So What Does That Mean
Final Chapter
(Chapter One , Chapter Two, Chapter Three, Chapter Four, Chapter Five, Chapter Six and Chapter Seven)
Author’s Note – This is the final chapter of this story. I hope you enjoyed.
*********************************************
The previews for the Abydos special episode showed no footage from the new episode, by the insistence of Daniel, it only showed his final speech from the previous one to build suspense and Maddie was watching the forums explode with excitement.
Everyone knew that Daniel wanted to go through the Stargate, anytime he was on a talk show to promote the show he mentioned it. So, the fact he had finally been allowed to, had caused a lot of anticipation to see what had happened.
Due to the nature of the shows and the fact they knew it would be impossible to keep the contents under wraps, literally the day General Hammond had signed off on the show it was confirmed in the schedule for the start of the next month. They were waiting for confirmation that Sha’re would be able to do the lecture tour, considering she was not native to Earth, and that additional security might be needed.
-
Daniel had returned to Colorado so that he could watch the second show with the O’Neill family and Sha’re, Charlie was especially excited Daniel was visiting again and had been standing watching out the window all day waiting for him to arrive.
“Okay,” Jack called, getting the attention of the group out in the back garden where they’d been sitting after dinner, “Show starts in five minutes. Get in here and get comfy.”
Charlie came running into the living room and threw himself into his beanbag, excited to see the show while Sara, Sha’re and Daniel walked in at a more leisurely pace.
Jack caught his wife around the waist and pressed a quick kiss to her cheek as he moved her to the couch at the right, ensuring that Daniel and Sha’re sat together. He knew they didn’t mind, but until they told people they were a couple, Jack and Sara were letting them pretend that no one knew. For now, anyway.
Jack organised drinks as Charlie turned the TV to the right channel, frowning at the adults who were still talking.
“Quiet,” he told them annoyed, “It’s starting soon.”
“We’re sorry,” Daniel smiled slightly, “We’ll be good.”
Charlie nodded, turning back to the television as the show began. Although Jack had already seen the show, he rewatched enjoying Charlie’s reactions to everything. Jack could tell that he was especially loving seeing Sha’re on the show. Charle adored Sha’re, she became like an older sister to him while she recovered and had been devastated when she’d returned home.
Glancing over to where Sha’re and Daniel were sitting, he could see they were unthinkingly cuddling together as the show progressed. He shared an amused smile with Sara as they watched Sha’re rest her head against Daniel’s shoulder while he wrapped his arm around her.
When the show finished and Jack turned the light back on, he chuckled to himself seeing them quickly move away from one another.
“What did you think, Charlie?” Daniel asked, moving the focus of the room to Jack and Sara’s son.
“That was amazing,” Charlie told him, “Sha’re was so good explaining everything.”
“Yes, she was,” Daniel agreed, smiling at Sha’re who blushed while biting her lower lip shyly.
Jack rolled his eyes, wincing when Sara smacked his arm.
“And it’s your bedtime,” Sara told her son, “Say goodnight to Daniel and Sha’re.”
Charlie sighed but moved to hug Sha’re goodnight before he turned to Daniel.
“Night, Dr Jackson.”
“Goodnight, Charlie,” Daniel said smiling before he added, “And since we’re friends now, I think you should call me Daniel.”
Charlie grinned and threw his arms around Daniel, “Goodnight, Daniel.”
Jack chuckled and caught his son in his arms for a hug before passing him to Sara.
“I should probably head back to the hotel,” Daniel told them, “I’ll see you tomorrow for the meeting.”
Jack nodded.
“I will walk you to the door,” Sha’re said softly, and Jack took the hint leaving them alone to help Sara put Charlie to bed.
-
Daniel sighed as he stood with Sha’re in the doorway of Jack and Sara’s house. It wasn’t easy pretending that he wasn’t hopelessly in love with her but right now, Sha’re didn’t want anyone else to know they were together – other than Maddie. Being with him was her choice but on Abydos everyone knew everything and right now she wanted to keep their relationship just to them.
“I’ll see you tomorrow,” he whispered to her, brushing his lips to hers before sighing, “Wish I didn’t have to leave. I’ve missed you for the past few weeks.”
Sha’re rested her head against his, “I missed you too,” she sighed, “I…”
“Hey,” Daniel held her close, “I understand why you don’t want to tell anyone yet.”
Sha’re kissed him properly, they broke apart and Daniel winced to find Sara and Jack standing there.
“This…” Daniel started, not sure what to say.
“We’ll see you both at the base tomorrow,” Sara said, handing Sha’re an overnight bag. At their stunned faces she laughed, shaking her head at her husband who was watching them amused, “You’re not quite as subtle as you think when you’re together. Not sure why you’re trying to hide this but it’s your choice. Just go and be together.”
Sha’re hugged Sara then Jack quickly before taking Daniel’s hand who led her out to his car.
*********************************************
Daniel paced as he checked his notes once more before he looked out at the crowd. The hall was packed as the lecture had sold out almost instantly the day after the second show. Sha’re was sitting watching him, having already worked out that interrupting him would be counterproductive. Maddie was doing final checks on the equipment for the lecture and the Q&A afterwards.
Daniel finally took the seat beside Sha’re, who slipped her hand into his.
“You are nervous,” she said confused.
Daniel nodded, “A little.”
“But you do this all the time,” she reminded him, “Why are you nervous?”
He shrugged, “I always get slight flashbacks to the lecture I gave where my theories were ridiculed, even though I know I’m right.”
“You will be amazing,” she whispered, “I know this.”
“So will you,” Daniel reminded her, “But if you’re worried while on stage at all just talk to me.”
Sha’re nodded before leaning in to kiss him.
The applause was thunderous as Daniel stepped out onto the stage. He had done this multiple times since his disastrous lecture when he’d first presented his theories, but the shadow of what had happened that day still meant he got nervous.
“Thank you everyone for coming,” Daniel said as the applause died down, “It’s so good of you all to come out to hear me talk. Don’t worry I will not be droning on for the full time. We have some clips that we couldn’t get into the shows, but we wanted people to see, and I have a few special guests as well for you.” He paused and smiled, “So, let’s get started with a few clips that we didn’t put in the show and that make me look like a bit of an idiot.”
The lights dimmed and clips of Daniel sliding down the sand, tripping over his words and starting to laugh unable to stop.
The lights came back up and Daniel shook his head, before laughing, “Let’s get on with what I came here to talk about and that is my visit to the SGC.”
Daniel went through his talk, getting laughs at the right time. Finally, he reached the section on Abydos.
“Before we go any further,” Daniel stated, “I have a very special guest to help me discuss my time on Abydos. She was my guide for the week and not only kept me on topic when my assistant Maddie wasn’t there to stop me going off on a tangent. She also showed me the city of Nagada and parts of Abydos not connected to the Stargate. Please welcome, Sha’re.”
Sha’re walked out a little nervously to the cheers, relaxing when Daniel took her hand to lead her to the chair set out for her. The audience reaction was exactly what he knew it would be.
Daniel squeezed her hand comfortingly before taking his seat again and started the conversation on what they’d seen on Abydos, Sha’re was hesitant at first but soon relaxed and made everyone laugh with her observations.
When they came to the question-and-answer section, there were a few things she had to ask him to explain to her, but to Daniel’s relief it went smoothly. Even with the marriage proposals she received from more than one audience member.
Leaving the stage, Daniel turned to Sha’re, “How do you feel?”
“It was fun,” she told him, “And it feels strange that we will have the same conversation multiple times, but I am looking forward to doing it again.”
Daniel hugged her, “Good because I’m looking forward to spending every day with you.”
*********************************************
He has told us about ancient civilizations and what has been found through the Stargate for the past five years on his popular documentaries. With millions of fans around the country, his lecture tours are always sold out and he receives multiple marriage proposals each month.
Today the show’s official website has announced that Dr Daniel Jackson has married Sha’re of Abydos.
The official announcement stated that the wedding was small, attended by a few friends of the groom, members of the SGC who both are close to and the family of the bride.
The couple met when Dr Jackson travelled to Abydos for a special episode of his popular documentary series, and from what could be seen on the show, as well as the lecture tour she joined him for afterwards, they had instant chemistry.
The happy couple will be spending the next month on Sha’re’s homeworld celebrating with her family before they return to Earth.
*********************************************
Daniel sat in the small office he’d been given to use in the SGC while Sha’re sorted everything she needed to do before they headed to Abydos for their honeymoon. He’d meant to wait until after the tour, but they were in New York and, after the lecture on the second night in the city, Daniel took her to the top of the Empire State Building so she could see what all the fuss was about.
While they stood looking at the stars, his proposal slipped out and, to his amazement, Sha’re said yes instantly.
Three weeks after they finished the tour, to give some time to organise everything, they were married.
Daniel was now trying to work out what he should do. He knew that Hammond would give him a job within the SGC if he asked, but he did still enjoy doing his show which took him all over the country.
He had a full month to decide where his future lay, other than with his new wife.
“Hey,” Maddie appeared in the office, “Please tell me you’re not working.”
“Just sending a few emails before we leave,” Daniel told her, “Sha’re is making sure she has everything for our trip.”
Maddie grinned, “I’m so happy for you and Sha’re. While you’re away I am going to be here keeping things afloat.”
“Here as in on Earth,” Daniel asked curiously, “Or here in the SGC?”
Maddie shrugged, “The SGC for the moment.”
“Just make sure I don’t have to fight too hard to get you away from here once I get home,” Daniel told her.
Rolling her eyes, Maddie closed his laptop, “If you don’t get out of here, you won’t have that issue, but you also won’t have a wife.” She laughed, “You’re expected in the Gateroom.”
Turning to her, Daniel said, “Thank you for everything. I’m not sure what’s going to happen…”
“If we continue with the show, I will be there,” Maddie smiled, “But if you decide to move on, I will take General Hammond’s offer to work here.”
Daniel hugged her.
“Now get out of here,” Maddie motioned him out the door, “Enjoy your honeymoon.”
Heading to the Gateroom, Daniel found his bag sitting at the door waiting for him as Sha’re stood with Jack and Sara, they’d made their goodbyes to Charlie the day before since he had school today.
Jack moved to Daniel’s side and offered his hand, “Have a good honeymoon, Dr Jackson. Make sure you keep making Sha’re smile.”
“I promise, Colonel,” Daniel shook his hand, “We’ll see you in a month.”
As the Stargate began to dial, Daniel moved to Sha’re’s side accepting a quick hug from Sara before taking his new wife’s hand as the Gate opened.
“Confirmation from Abydos,” the technician told them, “You have a go.”
Hand in hand, the couple walked up the ramp and through the Stargate ready for their future together.

Today was a sleepy day because I did not feel good so I basically stayed in bed all day being sad about not feeling good.
I slept alright last night but I didn't want to wake up. I didn't feel good. My ear was hurting a lot. And I just felt low. James came and laid with me while I scrolled on my phone. But eventually I had to get up.
I took a shower and brushed my teeth and it helped a little bit. I felt really weak though and I needed to eat something quickly. So I had some cereal and tried to feel normal.
This did not work. I was just so tired. I felt bad all over. I wanted to clean or do something but I could not get it together.
James laid on the couch with me and Sweetp. Which was nice. Eventually I decided I would only feel better if I had Mac and cheese. James offered to go grocery shopping and get some. I appreciated them very much for doing that. So James would leave and I would joke about not being able to move because Sweetp was lounging on me.
But Sweetp would move pretty fast. And I would move to the bedroom and called my dad. We talked for a half hour about houses and life and it was a nice chat. Even though I was not feeling great, it did help make me feel more normal.
I would lay in bed until James came home. They made me Mac and cheese. And it made me feel slightly better a little. I thought I would sleep but that never happened. James put a blanket on me and I was at least cozy even if I wasn't doing my best.
I got a little over upset when Sarah texted me to ask about setting up the Native American program tomorrow. I thought it was on Wednesday and was very stressed all of a sudden. Then there was a lot of confusion about who was running what and a lot of texting back and forth between Elizabeth and everyone. And I was trying not to meltdown but I was getting very very upset which I know was irrational but I was just having a bad time.
I had to focus on something else. We were going to dinner with the Fulwilers at 530. I would get myself put back together. And ready to go.
Right before we left I had James help me vacuum a few snails out of the frog tank. And then we were off.
And dinner was nice. We went to Joe's squared, which is going to close at the end of the month. A last hurrah. We ordered three pizzas and shared them. We got a margarita, a seafood, and one they call the flag which has two cheese and red sauce, 2 pesto, and two white. It was great. The white was my favorite.
We had some nice conversations too. About Tucker getting his cataract surgery. About houses. About the play Charlotte is helping with. It was a fun time. But I was still not feeling amazing. So I was glad when it was time to go home.
Hugs all around. Anne and Tucker complimented my new jacket. James gave Charlotte the eggnog cookies we got her. And then we went home.
I was very happy to be home. It was cold out and I was happy to be in our warm apartment.
I would lay in bed with James and watch clips of the new Doctor Who episodes. And eventually I would have James give me a 10 minute alarm and once that was up I went and took a shower and washed my hair.
And my ear does not feel better. But I do feel alright. I mostly just want to sleep.
Tomorrow we have a big feild trip and I hope it's fun. I'm looking forward to work but also worried about feeling bad. I hope I wake up and everything is good and I can have a nice day.
I hope you all are feeling good. And if you aren't I hope tomorrow is easier. I love you very much. Goodnight!

What A Freakin Day!
Hey friends! Today was super long. I somehow got a flat tire and had to get that replaced. I went to the city library afterward. I found a few books referencing voodoo and hoodoo, but nothing about this famous Priestess. Even the news articles about mysterious deaths never mentioned her. I got back this afternoon and resumed my research online.
There have been alleged ghost sightings of Malacara roaming around in her house. And before you guys say, "what about pictures?" I looked at those too. All I'm saying is, we live in a digital age and Photoshop is accessible to almost everyone. Anyways, my plan for tomorrow is to drive over to the house and snoop around outside. I'm going to stay up a little late tonight. I'm binge-watching a few episodes of Ghost Adventures. Goodnight my loves.

Come Back to Bed
AHHHH Happy Falcon and Winter Soldier Day!! For those of you who have watched the first episode how did you like it and for those of you who haven’t how excited are you?! I literally just wrote this quick little blurb based off of the the gif below which is a scene in this first episode. I wrote it on my phone so I apologize for any mistakes! Enjoy!
Bucky x Fem!Reader
Warnings: none? unless being completely in love with James Buchanan Barnes is a warning then yes.
Word Count: 611
You rolled over, your arm stretching out in front of you in hopes of finding a certain super soldier and his warm chest waiting for you. But your arm was only met with a small bounce as it hit the mattress.
Slowly, you opened your eyes and let out a wistful sigh to see Bucky’s side of the bed empty. His usual spot was cold so he clearly had been gone for a while. You rolled out of bed and wrapped yourself in his flannel that was hanging on the back of the door and made your way quietly through the apartment.
Soft sounds of soccer highlights wafted through the room as you paused and watched your boyfriend sleeping restlessly on the floor. His lower half was only covered by the thin blanket you kept on the back of the couch and his head supported by a throw pillow that was more for decoration than practical use.
You tiptoed over to him and knelt down next to him. You carefully brushed the back of your hand over his cheek. You smiled as his features softened at the feeling of your touch.
“Bucky.” You whispered.
His eyes shot opened and he jolted up, nearly knocking you in the head. His breathing was erratic as he took in his surroundings.
“Bucky, baby, it’s me.” You grabbed his face in your hands and made him face you. His eyes were still wide as he tried to calm down. “Hey. Hi, baby.”
“Y/N?” His flesh hand reached up and rested against the left side of your chest. Right over your heart. This always calmed him down; listening to the rhythmic beat of your heart.
“Yes, it’s me. You’re okay.” You ran your thumbs over his cheek as his breathing finally slowed. “You’re safe.”
“I’m okay. I’m safe.” He muttered to himself.
“Do you wanna talk about it?” You already knew his answer but you always asked. Maybe, just maybe, he would let you know the final part of his brain that plagued him.
“No.” He looked down. Your hands fell from his face and his hand dropped from your chest but he reached down and intertwined your fingers with his. “No, I’m sorry. Go back to bed, doll.”
“Come with me.” You urged. “The floor is no place for an old man like you to sleep.”
Bucky let out a small chuckle but he shook his head. He brought your hands up and gave your knuckles a small kiss.
“I...I can’t. I don’t know, I just…” he trailed off, finally looking back up at you.
“Sam mentioned something about the bed maybe being too soft? We can go get a new one tomorrow?” You offered.
“You love that mattress. I know. You rave about it to everyone.” Bucky said lightly. “It’s fine.”
“I love you more, James.” You leaned forward and gave him a kiss before turning your body and laying down.
“What are you doing?”
“Well if you won’t come back to bed with me, I guess I’ll just sleep with you out here.” You said. “Now come snuggle with me, I’m cold.”
Bucky was still for a moment, just looking at you. He couldn’t believe he had actually found someone so understanding and patient with him. Sometimes he felt like you were just another one of his dreams.
“Bucky.” You whined as you wiggled in a dramatic effect.
Bucky laughed and laid down, pulling the blanket over the both of you and throwing his metal arm over your torso. He pulled you close and buried his face in your neck, pressing soft kisses there.
“Goodnight, Buck.” You whispered.
“Goodnight, my love.”

Neighborly
overview: spencer has a new upstairs neighbor who arrives at the same time as the BAUs newest agent
genre: fluff
a/n: this one isnt very romantic but i think its cuteee and could definitely maybe have a part two or something if yall want so lmk what you think :)
masterlist
-
-
Spencer could not stand his new upstairs neighbor.
she had moved in a few months ago. he had never met her (he assumed she was a girl based on the fall of her footsteps and the music she would sometimes blast) but she always seemed to be up when he was getting home from a case. infact, she was always home when he was and she paid absolutely no heed to her downstairs neighbor when she was walking around at 2 in the morning. not that Spencer could sleep anyway, but if he could, it would be exponentially more annoying.
he assumed she was some sort of first responder, maybe a nurse or doctor, because she had incredibly weird hours. or maybe she had no job, or worked from home. after all, he had never seen her and he had no proof of whether she was home when he was not.
he would come to work and occasionally complain to the team about her, how she was walking around and keeping him up.
"why don't you knock on her door and ask her to stop? thats what i would do but all my neighbors are quiet as a mouse." you offered, spinning nonchalantly on your chair one morning.
"yeah newbie is right. just ask her." morgan agreed.
"i cant do that! that would be rude." Spencer shook his head as he spoke.
you laughed, "think of it as being neighborly."
"i dont think telling someone theyre bothering you is very neighborly." he chuckled.
"bake her a cake that says 'kindly shut the hell up' in icing."
"i cant bake!" he whined
you laughed, ruffling his hair, "i dont know what to tell you. just suffer i guess."
he groaned, stifling a smile at the obscurity of your sentence. or maybe at the entire essence of your being. you could always make him smile, and that was a difficult thing to do. you had only been welcomed to the team a few months ago but in a matter of days he decided he probably liked you best on the whole team.
you definitely felt the same about him.
after some regular banter, everyone got to work, filling out and organizing old case files. paperwork days were a breeze for Spencer, almost therapeutic. writing up a report on a case and then being done with it, never having to think about it again after that.
you were breezing through work today as well, wanting to get home as soon as you possibly could. there was a new episode of your favorite show airing tonight and you did not want to miss it. and you had another reason.
theres is a rumor in your building about an elusive man that lives in the apartment below yours. all the old women on your floor always talk about him to you. they said he's rarely home, and when he is, you wouldn't know the difference. but he's very kind, often rushing to help them up the stairs or with groceries. and apparently, you always just miss each other by a matter of minutes.
so you've been trying to arrive home at different times, switching it up by a matter of minutes. but so far that hasn't worked.
when the clock struck 5pm you were ready to practically run out of the doors of the bullpen, excited to finally be on time to watch your show and maybe hopefully run into mystery man.
the team sent you confused glances as you rushed to stuff your belongings into your bag.
"my show!" is all you said explanation, as you slung your bag across your shoulder and speed walked out of the building, "bye guys!"
"she is something," prentiss chuckled after you left, sitting on the corner of your now empty desk.
"how does she have all that energy?" morgan laughed, shaking his head slightly.
"she takes her coffee/tea [ur coffee/tea order]. and she naps all the time." spencer's responded eyes glued to his computer screen. all eyes were now on him and his vast knowledge about you. he looked up and felt his face flush, "i- i think." he looked back at his computer in attempt to hide his embarrassment, "or maybe she just doesn't have an annoying upstairs neighbor keeping her up."
a couple of snickers followed as they dispersed back to their seats and began getting ready to go home as well. Spencer thought about his neighbor, wondering if he hurried home, maybe she wouldn't be there yet.
so he packed up and began heading out, hopping on the train and wondering if his hypothesis would be correct.
it wasn't.
when he got home he heard the rhythmic stomping of his upstairs neighbor dancing. he rolled his eyes; she was dancing to some short song that was likely the intro to a tv show. he sighed. there was no point in complaining now, it wasn't late at night and she turned down her tv volume once the song was done.
he collapsed exhausted on the couch, turning on some quiet piano as his eyes drooped closed.
your show finished after an hour and you started getting a little sleepy so you decided to take a nap on your couch.
you weren't sure how much time had passed but you woke up on the floor, your hip aching. you had fallen off of your couch in your sleep. you groaned as you sat up.
Spencer jolted awake at the sudden thud from upstairs, his eyes shooting open and his heart racing. he wasn't sure if he was more annoyed at the fact that she woke him up, or how she woke him up. but he felt bad, it sounded like a person falling. was she ok? what if she was hurt and he was sat here rolling his eyes about it? it was very late, his clock read 1:34am.
he was curious to meet her finally...and maybe going upstairs would make her more conscious and considerate of her poor, tired downstairs neighbor.
should he check on her?
you were startled by the knock at your door, glancing over at the clock and seeing how late it was. you cursed yourself for putting an obnoxious wreath on your door because it was covering your peep hole. you grabbed a baseball bat that you kept hidden under your table.
just as Spencer was about to walk away, the door opened and his eyes gazed up from the floor to finally see the face of his insufferable upstairs neighbor.
"Spencer? are you alright? come in. what are you doing at my house in the middle of the night?" you chuckled, tossing the baseball bat aside.
"no way.." he breathed in utter disbelief, looking around for a roommate that could be the one making all the noise.
"um...what?" you furrowed your eyebrows.
his mind moving a mile a minute and suddenly it all made sense. the music was the same as what you played in the car because it was your playlist. the steps were obviously female because they were yours that he'd often heard echo around the office. and you had never crossed paths because he took the train, and you took your car, so you would never leave at the same time. and you were always home when he was because you'd come back from cases at weird hours.
"i should have baked you a cake," he said finally breaking the silence.
you let out a confused laugh, "why?"
"so i could write 'kindly shut the hell up' on it with icing." he laughed as your eyes widened as your brain connected the dots.
"IM THE ANNOYING UPSTAIRS NEIGHBOR?!" your hand flew to cover your mouth, embarrassed at your volume level this late at night.
"i cant believe i didn't connect the dots!" he laughed, dumbfounded.
"wait.." your eyes grew impossibly wider, "if i'm you're annoying upstairs neighbor...that makes you mystery man!"
"mystery man?"
"can i explain tomorrow its like ass o'clock in the morning right now."
he laughed, "yes but only because someone woke me up from my nap."
"i was just being neighborly."
"mhm," he hummed.
you were sleepily staring at each other, dopey smiles complimenting the comfortable silence settling in the air. the sudden butterflies erupting in your stomach startled you into breaking the silence.
"goodnight Spencer," you whispered.
"goodnight y/n." he smiled, giving a small wave before heading down the stairs back to his own apartment.

Monday
Despite being a swiftly rising actress, you hated being the enter of attention. You’d always gotten anxious as a kid when a teacher made you stand in front of the class for presentations or during first-day introductions. So being front and center in a room of 30 people who were all there to study and try to impress you was not something you found pleasant.
“Hi, I’m Y/N Y/L/N.” You spoke timidly to the crowded room, people clapping from their spots on the floor or various couches around the room, “it’s great to be here.”
Lorne cleared his throat, “alright, let’s start with you, Anna.”
You looked around the room as a young woman pitched the first sketch of the night, listening intently to her ideas while trying to match faces with the names Lorne had given you earlier. Then your eyes locked with a pair of deep brown ones, the man wearing a soft smile on his face. He radiated gentle energy despite the tattoos you could see running down his arms.
The pitches continued with an air of lightheartedness and fun. You found nearly everything funny, so you couldn’t even begin to imagine how you were going to cut any of the sketch pitches.
After a lull in ideas, Lorne announced that cast members could now pitch ideas for Weekend Update character appearances. The man you’d taken an interest in earlier, who you’d since learned was named Pete Davidson, pitched a new set of characters for you and him.
“You know those weird stoner kids in high school who were always hanging out in the parking lot and acted really weird and mysterious? Those characters who just give really vague answers to anything you ask and act like they’ve seen some shit when they have the most normal home lives.”
You giggled, knowing the exact kinds of kids he was talking about. Colin and Michael also chuckled, writing the idea down with some notes of their own. Soon after that, everyone went back to pitching regular sketches, Jost and Che pitching an unusual number of sketches featuring you and Pete.
After a few long hours, the session wrapped; everyone leaving the office space except for you and Lorne, “so, what did you think?”
You chuckled lightly, “you have some seriously talented people on this show, Mr. Michaels. I don’t understand how you guys write an entire show every week.”
“We all work very hard; I’ll tell you that. Now, talk to me. Anything you really liked or really hated?”
You shrugged, “you’re the comedy mastermind, I know nothing. But I thought that weird kids from high school bit was pretty funny.”
Lorne nodded, “So did Jost and Che it seems. Sometimes the kid has a good idea.” You giggled at his reference to Pete as “the kid.” He sighed, “anything else? I noticed you liked that proposal sketch.”
“Yeah, that one was super funny. I will say, I wasn’t too in love with the dad-teacher one, but I would have no problem with it being done with someone else as the daughter.”
Lorne and you spent the rest of the workday discussing the different sketch ideas that came up and gauging what type of comedy suited you best. Before you left, he introduced you to Donna, your dresser who would be helping you out throughout the week.
Tuesday
After a quick tour of the studio by Donna, you were given a list of cast members and writers who wanted to meet with you to get ideas about sketches. You first stepped into a small room with a desk and futon, Donna introducing you to Chloe Fineman and Celeste Yim.
Chloe smiled brightly at you, “okay, so we were thinking that we could do something where I bring you to a sleepover with some friends that you don’t know. But at some point, you try to go to sleep because you have a soccer tournament in the morning but everyone else is being loud and it turns into this big overdramatic argument.”
You giggled softly, “I love that!”
After writing with them for a while, you were whisked away to room after room, finally landing in Colin Jost and Michael Che’s office, where they were hunched over a computer with Pete.
Colin smiled at you, “hey Y/N, how’s your day been?”
“Busy, how are you guys?”
The men responded with variations of “good,” before Michael spoke, “I know it’s late, so don’t feel obligated to stay longer than you’re comfortable with.”
You shrugged, “what time is it? It doesn’t feel that late.”
Pete laughed, teasing Colin and Michael, “c’mon guys, don’t you know that the young people of New York don’t sleep?”
You giggled in agreement as Colin frowned, “I’m only 38, that’s not that old.”
“I’m only 26, Colin,” you said, laughing at the men.
Michael patted Colin on the shoulder, “Jost, we’re getting old.”
Colin frowned before clearing his throat, “anyways, we had a couple ideas for some sketches with you and Pete, if you’re up for it, and we wanted to hash out your weekend update appearance.”
You smiled and nodded, “yeah, that sounds great.”
The rest of the night (and into the early morning) was spent with the three men, eventually joined by Heidi Gardner and Kyle Mooney to work them into the scripts. A majority of the writing process was simply messing around with various sketch situations until someone found a joke that worked best.
Pete watched you carefully the entire night, doing everything in his power to make you laugh. You had no complaints, doing your best to not openly flirt with him in front of the rest of the cast (and failing quite miserably).
Wednesday
Wednesday was the designated day for the roundtable readthrough. You took a place between Pete and Lorne, who began the reading, “we’ve got 41 sketches so let’s get started.”
The table read was just like any other you’d been through; Lorne wasting no time between sketches to discuss or joke. You struggled with containing your laughter throughout the reading, trying to act professionally. It didn’t help that Pete was making jokes any chance he got, eliciting even more giggles from you.
The three hours seemed to take no time at all as sketch after sketch was read out loud. Every so often you would catch Lorne looking at you with an eyebrow raised, usually after you read one of the sketches with Pete.
After everyone was dismissed, you were led to Lorne’s office with the head writers and producers. There was a large wall covered in sticky notes with each sketch’s name written on one. Lorne turned to you, “what do you think?”
You scanned the wall, listing off some of the sketches that you really liked, though most of them were great, so you had trouble narrowing them down.
Lorne let out a small laugh, “you guys noticed how she picked out the sketches with Pete in them, too, right?”
Your face went hot, immediately turning to face the ground. Colin and Michael chuckled, “we noticed,” the latter commented.
“There’s nothing wrong with it, Y/N, just wanted to point it out to you.” Lorne teased before turning back to the wall and thinking.
You giggled, “you guys suck.”
As embarrassed as you were, your anxiety was surprisingly low. You had been worried about hosting since you got the invite, but the cast and crew had been nothing but kind to you. Even just being able to make jokes like this with the writers made you feel oddly comforted.
You worked on narrowing down which sketches to keep for rehearsals and which ones were going to get cut immediately, a job that was very easy for Lorne but very difficult for you.
Eventually you got it down to enough sketches that Lorne was satisfied and he sent out the list to the cast. He led you out of his office, “you know, you have a real affinity for comedy,” he told you. “I don’t know if you’ve ever thought about sketch comedy, but from that read through you seem to know what you’re doing.”
You blushed slightly, thanking him, “we’ll see if you’re still saying that on Saturday.”
He chuckled, “have a good night.” You waved at him as you walked towards the exit, running into none other than Pete Davidson.
“Hey, you headed out?”
You smiled, “yeah, just got out of my meeting with Lorne. Did you get a chance to look at the revised sketch schedule?”
Pete nodded, walking with you to the door of the theater, “yeah, I noticed you kept a lot of our sketches in there,” he bumped your shoulder, a playful smirk on his face.
A giggle rolled from your lips, “what can I say? We’re funny together.”
He raised an eyebrow, watching as you flagged down your taxi, “whatever you say.”
“Are you complaining about having to work with me?” You asked, opening the door.
He chuckled, “oh yeah. I am just dreading tomorrow.” Sarcasm laced his words, making you laugh.
“Goodnight, Pete.”
“Goodnight, Y/N.”
Thursday
Donna ushered you around all day, making sure you were in the rehearsal space when you needed to be and supporting you from the side. This part of the process came naturally to you, as it was the most similar to rehearsing and filming on movie sets.
When you weren’t rehearsing a scene, you were hanging out with Pete. It was strange how easily you got along, your humors aligning almost perfectly. Not to mention he was a huge flirt and was making it more and more obvious with you. You flirted right back, earning looks of amusement from Lorne throughout the day.
The day was a whirlwind, and by the time you were able to go home, you were exhausted. Pete walked you out to the street again, talking about one of the sketches that went wrong earlier until your taxi pulled up. This time he opened the door for you and helped you inside, “see you tomorrow.”
You smiled up at him, “bright and early.”
Friday
After hours of rehearsing, you plopped onto the couch in Pete’s dressing room, where you had found yourself a home over the past few days, “I don’t know how you guys do this every week. I’ve been here for four days and I’m exhausted.”
Pete chuckled, “to be fair, you’re the host. The key is to try and only get one sketch into the show so that you don’t have to do anything during the week.”
You laughed, letting a comfortable silence fall over you. Pete studied you, taking in your tired appearance, “you’re doing great though, being a host. I’ve seen some people come in and try to take control of everything and then no one has fun. You’re really good at just letting the comedy speak for itself. Not many people do that.”
Shrugging, you responded, “I mean, I’m not a comedian, I’m just an actor. You guys come up with everything. I don’t know enough to try and control things around here, I just do what I can to make your visions come to life. I figured that’s what a host should do.”
Pete nodded, “yeah, but again, a lot of people want their SNL episode to look a certain way. You don’t seem to care.”
“I just want to have fun, honestly.”
He smirked, “are you?”
You looked up to him with a smile on your face, “definitely.”
Suddenly the speaker in the room rang out, “Y/N and Pete to main stage 1.”
Groaning, you lifted yourself from the couch, Pete watching you with amusement, “c’mon Ms. Host, we’ve got a show to rehearse.”
Saturday
The day was hectic; filled with rehearsal after rehearsal. Lorne and Donna made sure that you were comfortable all day, but you could feel the stress radiating from every inch of the studio.
Stronger than that, though, was the sense of excitement buzzing around everyone. You were fit into more costumes than you could count, all leading up to the final dress rehearsal of the night in front of the live studio audience.
Dress ran smoothly, but you could see Lorne cutting lines from sketches from stage out of the corner of your eye. Luckily, Pete distracted you from all the anxious energy. “I know Lorne looks like a psychopath, but that’s just what he does. Everything’s fine, don’t stress about it,” he said over dinner.
You chuckled, “thanks. I feel so out of my league this week.”
“I told you, you’re great. Everyone here loves you. I heard Lorne talking about wanting you back as soon as possible.”
Rolling your eyes, you responded, “yeah right, I’m never gonna do anything big enough to get me on this show again.”
Pete laughed, “you could always make guest appearances with me on the Weekend Update.”
“You aren’t sick of me already?” you joked.
After dinner you were paraded around by Donna, who got you into your style for opening monologue. She smiled at you through your dressing room mirror, “how are you feeling?”
You gave her a nervous smile, “terrified, but ready.”
The lady chuckled, “you’ll do great. I’ll be right offstage if you need anything.”
“Thank you, for everything this week.”
She squeezed your shoulders, “don’t mention it, though if you really want to thank me, go ask that Davidson boy out on a date.”
Your eyes went wide, “Donna!”
A chuckle rang out through the room, “what? I say it for your own good.”
She led you through a maze of hallways and tunnels until you were in place to walk onstage, the speaker announcing your name to the audience followed by cheers.
Exactly 90 minutes later you were gathered with the cast on stage, “thank you to Fletcher, Lorne Michaels, this amazing cast and crew, and thank you all for watching. Goodnight everybody!”
You turned to Pete, who was standing beside you and let him pull you in for a hug, “you did it!” he cheered.
You passed around the cast, giving hugs to as many people as you can before Lorne announced, “that’s a wrap on Y/N Y/L/N and Fletcher!”
Everyone cheered, clapping for you and your musical guest before heading to their dressing rooms to change into their night clothes. You went back to your own dressing room, taking a moment to bask in the feeling of accomplishment.
A knock on your door pulled you out of your haze, “come in!”
Pete entered the room, a wide smile on his face, “congrats!” You let him pull you in for another hug, “so I know that there’s supposed to be this big party after the show, but I was wondering if you’d let me take you to dinner instead?”
Your breath got caught in your throat, those words being the last thing you expected to hear from him. Of course, you wanted to say yes because you did, truthfully, really like him. But part of you was hesitant.
You’d dated your fair share of celebrities, and things always ended very publicly and typically poorly. On top of that, you couldn’t help but feel that this might be happening a bit too quick. You started to doubt that he would still have feelings for you in a week since he wouldn’t be around you nearly all the time.
And then there was the issue of your insane work schedules. Having just lived through his, you weren’t sure if you would be able to keep a relationship like that.
“Pete, I think you’re amazing and I really like you, I just-“
Pete nodded his head, cutting you off, “I know we only met like a couple of das ago, but people go on dates with literal strangers all the time.”
You sighed, “it’s not that, Pete, it’s just that…” you paused, searching for words, “things like this tend to be very public with me, and I really don’t want to have a relationship where there’s all this pressure by the media to be perfect.”
He shrugged, “I get that, but it’s just dinner. And we can go somewhere quiet and private, no one has to know. And if things go further then we’ll just keep it on the down low until you’re ready. Trust me, I know what a public relationship is like, I’m not a huge fan either.”
“Yeah, but what about your work schedule. I mean, I’ve only lived in your world for six days and I want to sleep for a month. How do you even hold a relationship on this schedule?”
Pete moved closer to you, fingers grazing your arm, “we can make it work. I promise. Just give me one date, and if it’s not the best first date of your life, you have no further obligations to me.”
You giggled lightly, leaning into his touch, “I’m only saying yes because you’re kinda cute.”
He smiled down at you, eyes twinkling, I’ll take it.”

To the 3 people who might see this post: Gonna go down a rabbit hole and I invite you to join me.
It's currently late and I do not claim to be coherent.
Just watched the Startrek episode with Omicron Ceti III, the one where a plant's spores turns everyone into hippies with complete satisfaction and zero ambition.
Once rid of the plant's effects, all pioneers on the planet opt to leave.
Capt. Kirk's philosophical conclusion at the end was that humans are meant to struggle and in some way are not happy with complete happiness.
As a Philosophical major with clinical depression, I've thought a lot about happiness, meaning, purpose, in general what a human should do with their existence once they exist.
And I can't stop thinking about this episode.
It reminds me of Brave New World, with the premise that humans need Meaning rather than Happiness/pleasure. It touched on the idea that in the good/bad dichotomy both can only exist without the other, but to me what really stood out was Meaning > Pleasure despite Meaning including suffering.
(Which is why I reject the teachings of Buddhism despite my immense respect for it. Nirvana, (As I understand it at least, I am no expert on it) a state of being without desire and suffering, seems to me fitting only as a punishment to the human soul)
Unlike the citizens of Huxley's World State, however, the pioneers on Omicron Ceti III did things like have emotionally intimate relationships, create art, have a lifestyle connected with nature and actively wonder at its beauty, appreciate simple pleasures, and engage in spontaneous/carefree play.
There is certainly a wholesomeness of a kind present in the Star Trek episode not present in Brave New World, but I hesitate to call it meaning.
So BNW condemned meaningless pleasure, and Ceti 3 condemned ambitionless contentment.
McCoy still had the gusto in him to create a mint julep, but he lacked the ambition to create more, better, or new drinks.
Was Ceti 3 really that bad? Is regular life, the chance of achievement with the garuntee of suffering and the risk of a worthless life truly preferrable to contentment without ambition?
Is that an accurate question, is it possible for a life to be without worth or meaning?
I suppose not.
But it's possible for one to have only negative meaning, be a sad story rather than a happy one.
Here, I think, is my conclusion.
Ceti 3 - contentment without ambition - is inferior to contentment with ambition, as the episode purposes, But!
It is preferable to ambition without contentment, which I take to be lives of many real people today; and it is far preferable to a life with neither ambition nor contentment, which is what I live most of my life in and what I think a large percentage of the world's population also live in.
As for the degrees and categories of meaning which each of the above produces, an exact calculation of that is unnecessary because the tier list would remain unchanged.
So to sum it up even more: Ceti 3 is inoptimal, but it's better than the life of most people today, the lives of each is a risk manifest. And whether one would choose A: good but not the best (Ceti 3) or B: could be best or could be worst (real life) could only be a personal decision and it is beyond me to choose which is better for everyone.
Oh gosh I have to get up early tomorrow, I'm up way too late, Goodnight!
#Star Trek#Personal post#Rant#Philosophy#Could be an essay if I put in more effort but nah#Nobody's gonna read this#This is what you get when your depressed brain asks if your life is worth anything#And your ADD brain takes that question and refuses to stop trying to get a logical answer#philosophy

Hello! I absolutely love your writing (´∀`*) May I request head cannons of the demon brothers finding out that that the MC got into a relationship with a human in the time between the end of the exchange programme and returning to the Devildom?
The Demon Bros Finding out MC got a (Human) Boyfriend
Lucifer
• He’s ... surprised
• He thought you two really had a connection during your year in the Devildom, and regretted every day not making a move before you left
• So when you came back his heart felt like it was beating out of his chest
• But he wanted to make his move at the right time
• Belphie was teasing you and asked if you’d gotten a boyfriend since going back to the human world
• “Yeah, actually I did. His name’s [name] and we’ve been together for a few months now” you say, blushing at the thought of him while you take a drink of water
• “That’s our human!” Leviathan praises you from across the table, and the rest of the brothers all congratulated you in their own way too
• Except Lucifer. You noticed his gaze shift down to his food as he fell silent for the remainder of the dinner
• You try to talk to him later that night, but he just pushes you away
• “Luci please. Talk to me”
• “I can’t, MC” he pauses, running a hand through his hair, “Not anymore”
Mammon
• You walk through the door of the House of Lamentation and the first person you see is Mammon
• “Mammon!” you exclaim, and run towards him
• “Mah human! You’re back!” he yells back, taking you into his arms and spinning you around off the floor
• “How have you been! What’s new!” he asks, going to get your suitcase and bring it to your room (which they keep exactly as you leave it at all times)
• “Nothing really, but I uh, I got a boyfriend” you say, rocking back and forth on your feet as you break the news to him
• He laughs, “Ahaha! Funny one Y/N, but you’re just kidding, right?”
• “No, Mammon...I’m not”
• You see the sparkle in his eyes fade, and his hand falls from the handle of your bag
• “Oh...” is all he says, and you feel your heart drop. You had had feelings for Mammon, but when he didn’t do anything before you left you assumed you didn’t have a shot
• “Mammon...I’m sorry” is all you can manage to say, and you take your bag and walk to your room
Leviathan
• He’s been saving the most recent season of your favorite anime to watch with you
• So once you get back to the Devildom, he instantly steals you away from the rest of the brothers and locks the two of you in his room
• “Y/N! Can we watch the new season of [anime] together? I’ve been saving it to watch with you and I-”
• “Levi...I’m sorry, I already watched it with my boyfriend when the episodes aired”
• His smile drops, and suddenly everything makes sense. The way he’d always ask you to hang out despite being a self-proclaimed introvert. The way he’d play through games with you and the way he was always there for you to cry on when you and Belphie got into a fight
• You step forward to hug him, but he steps further back
• “No, it’s fine. I understand. You can go, I’m sorry I assumed we’d watch it together”
• He turns and sits on his bed as you slowly leave the room, closing the door quietly behind you
• He can’t bring himself to watch the anime ever again, and you fall asleep feeling an emptiness in your chest
Satan
• He tries to keep how excited he is to see you on the down-low, but considering you’d texted him every day you both knew how excited you were to see each other
• You have dinner with everyone, but the two of you end the night together in his room, sitting together and reading
• “I uh, got a boyfriend” you blurt out, knowing you had to tell him but not knowing how
• He puts his book down, a finger between the pages he was reading as a bookmark
• “Oh”
• You can hear the deflation in his voice, and your heart sinks lower in your chest than you ever thought was possible
• “Yeah...I didn’t know how to tell you”
• “Yeah...” he says, clearly thinking of what else to say, “Thanks for telling me”
• You just nod and look back down at your book, and the two of you read in a much more deafening silence than before
• A few minutes pass, and he speaks again. “I think I’m going to go to bed”. It’s a short and simple sentence, but you can hear how hurt he is in his voice
• “Okay. Let me know if you want to talk later” you say, squeezing his shoulder a bit before getting up and going back to your room
• You find yourself crying as you try to fall asleep, knowing you were happy with your boyfriend but feeling like you did something wrong with it not being Satan
Asmodeus
• You’re having a movie night with Asmodeus, Mammon, Leviathan, and Satan. You and Asmo were cuddling, and the rest of the brothers were sitting on the couch beside you
• “So human, anything fun happen in the human world or did you just miss us the whole time you were gone” Mammon teases
• “I got a boyfriend, actually. He’s really sweet” you say, glad Mammon brought it up so you didn’t have to
• You feel Asmo tense at your words, and you turn to face him
• He looks at you for a second, but quickly masks his shock with happiness for you. “Babe that’s amazing! Tell us everything” he says, but you can tell every word you speak will break his heart further and further
• You say a few vague things about him before insisting that Levi press play on the movie
• Asmo usually makes jokes quietly to you during movies, but this time he’s silent
• The two of you go to his room after and talk, but it’s awkward and you can tell he’s hurt
• You agree to hang out tomorrow and go through a beauty routine the two of you love, but you can tell he’s going to need some time before things go back to how they used to be
Beelzebub
• He didn’t realize that he had feelings for you until you were gushing about your new boyfriend as the two of you were snacking
• “He’s amazing Beel, he’s everything I’ve ever wanted”
• He’s confused about how he didn’t realize he loved you until it was too late, regret filling him as he searched for words to congratulate you
• “Y/N, I’m so happy for you. You deserve this happiness” he says, squeezing your hand for a second before returning to his snack
• “Thanks Beel” you say, scanning his face with your eyes, “Are we okay?”
• “Yeah, of course. Why wouldn’t we be” he responds, shock still setting in that he has feelings for you
• “I don’t know, I just wanted to make sure” you said, giving him a small smile
• The two of you talk late into the night, but you can’t help but shake the feeling that he’s upset about something
• Before going to bed for the night you look at him for a moment, “You alright Beel?”
• “Yeah. I’ll be alright” he whispers, smiling at you weakly, “Goodnight Y/N”
Belphegor
• He’s been in his room all day, so he doesn’t know that you’re back until you knock on his door with the secret knock only the two of you know
• “Y/N? Is that you?” he calls out, getting up and opening the door
• “Belphie!” you fly into his arms and he wraps his back around you
• You’re laying in bed together, catching up late into the night when you casually bring up your boyfriend
• “[Name], who’s that? A new friend?” Belphie asks, curious to who your friends are when you’re In the human world
• “He’s uh, he’s my boyfriend” you say, not sure how he’s going to take the news that you have a boyfriend
• “Oh, well if he breaks your heart I’ll kill him” he jokes, but you can tell he’s hurt
• “Haha, I’ll let him know” you joke, trying to lighten the mood back to where it was
• You continue talking, but fall asleep in your own bed instead of together like the two of you often did during your year in the Devildom
--------------------

the last night || anthony adams x fem!reader
summary: during his last night in the unit, anthony makes sure he's leaving you with one more good memory
pairing: anthony adams x fem!reader
word count: 2,395
warnings: general fluff, angst, skinny dipping, mentions of mental illness and being in a mental hospital, 18+ although no smut
a/n: i went into bottle rocket not knowing what to expect fully and i came out a full anthony adams simp so pls enjoy this fluffy piece pre-bottle rocket events - this is vvvv self-indulgent and sloppy, but it's just a piece i wanted to write and post
“So when are you leaving?” You asked casually, trying your best to not let your own feelings show - after all, you were happy for him, he was getting out.
You just wished you could go with him.
“Tomorrow. Dignan’s coming to ‘rescue’ me sometime in the afternoon,” Peeling open the wrapper of the pastry you swiped for him from the cafeteria earlier that day, he broke it in half to share with you, “I wouldn’t put it past him to show up with some elaborate scheme.”
“That’s Dignan for you.” You took the half he offered you and held it in your hands, staring at the moist breading before sighing and stuffing it in your mouth, chewing on it to try and avoid the built up feeling you had inside.
Okay, so maybe you were being a little selfish, but of all the years you had been there at the hospital, Anthony was the first you really clicked with. So it was only fair for you to be a little upset to know that he was getting out. Wasn’t it?
The two of you sat in comfortable silence while you finished off the muffin, you at the foot of his bed while he sat up top. Anthony wasn’t an idiot - nor was he new to being around you - he knew you were upset with him leaving, but how could he say it without you lashing out?
You had reminded him of Dignan in a lot of ways, which is why maybe he hit things off with you so well. You had the same passion Dignan did with your schemes, though your schemes only ever involved stealing desserts from the cafeteria and sneaking off into janitor’s closets when you two should have been outside.
He knew you’d be able to handle yourself, but he did worry though at the idea of your episodes. Without him around, would you be able to keep yourself grounded enough to not get thrown in isolation every other week?
Anthony was content with the idea of just sitting in his room the rest of the night with you, walking you back to your room once you got tired and kissing you on the cheek goodnight. Though, when he saw the tear slip down your cheek and you quickly wiped it away before he noticed, he knew he couldn’t just end the night on a somber note.
Everyone knew you two as ‘the duo’ around the unit. You were always the one leading with Anthony following behind you, occasionally pulling you back before you got into too much trouble. But tonight, he would be the one taking charge.
Standing up from his bed, Anthony extended his hand out to you, offering you his signature kind smile before motioning towards the door.
“Come on, I got an idea.” At first you were hesitant - his ideas usually meant dragging you on a walk to ‘clear your head’ or sit outside. To be quite frank, they were boring compared to the ideas you brewed in your head. Given though it was his last night, you complied.
You took his hand and smiled when he pulled you up, letting his fingers interlock with your’s before giving them a squeeze. Dragging you with him, Anthony led you both out of his room, checking to make sure there weren’t any guards around before heading down the hallway that led to the rec rooms.
Pushing through the set of doors that led into the basketball court, you turned your nose slightly, “We aren’t playing basketball, are we?” Your nose turned into a scrunch when you heard him laugh, squeezing your hand before pulling you closer to him, wrapping his arm around your shoulders.
“No, I know you can’t play to save your life. I have a better idea, just trust me.”
And you did, of course you did - it was Anthony.
After making your way through the basketball court, the two of you headed down the back hallway that led down the stairs and to the pool. When the scent of chlorine hit your nose, you turned your head up and towards him.
“I didn’t bring a suit,” You began, toying with the bracelet on your wrist. Humming as you looked around, you took a step closer to the pool, looking down at the deep end, “Plus we just ate - aren’t you supposed to wait like an hour before you go swimming?”
Shaking his head, Anthony took a few steps forward until he was behind you, wrapping his arms around your waist, “Well...I was thinking we didn’t have to wear suits, and if you’re worried about cramps, I don’t mind waiting.”
Leaning back into his arms, your hands held onto his, thinking about his idea.
“Oh...so like...we’d swim naked?” You felt him crane his neck down to kiss the top of your head, your lips pulling into a smile.
“Yeah, unless you’d rather go in your underwear. Whatever you want.” Turning you in his arms to look down at you, Anthony smiled and brought his hands up to your face, holding your cheeks before lightly pinching them between his fingers.
Giggling at his movements, you pulled away and shook your head, “No, I like this idea. Very daring for the famous ‘Austere Anthony Adams’.” You teased, making your way over to the side of the pool near the bench.
As you began to pull your clothes off, Anthony made his way towards you, unzipping his sweater to join you in the process, though his brain was still trying to wrap around the word you used to describe him.
“Austere? What does that mean?” He questioned, watching as you shimmied out of your pants, now standing in your underwear. He honestly figured you were going to go in your underwear, but he was pleasantly surprised to see you reach behind your back and unclip your bra.
“It means serious. You’re a quite serious person,” You pushed your underwear down your legs and stepped out of them, letting your clothes fall into a pile before you stood back up, “Just cause I’m a nut, doesn’t mean I don’t have a sense of vocabulary.”
Before he could make a comment about your diss on yourself, wanting to point out that he never thought that way, you were quick to make a dash for the pool, throwing yourself in and letting the room echo with the sounds of the splash.
Anthony was quick to join you, struggling to pull his boxers off from around his ankles, hopping over towards the pool before managing to finally kick them off, diving in after you.
The water was much cooler than you had expected it to be, which wasn’t a complaint at all given how hot it had been recently in Arizona. You wished that you were allowed more pool time in the summer, but figured that they kept you on the same routine for a reason.
When Anthony came up from the water, he pushed his hair back and spit out some water, treading the water until he found a spot where his feet could touch the bottom. Making your way towards him, you struggled to keep your head above water.
Letting you struggle for a bit, Anthony’s own smile pulled until he decided that you probably had enough and pulled you into his arms, letting your legs wrap around his middle. Your arms came to wrap around his neck, fingers gently running through the back of his hair that was by the base of his neck.
“I forgot how terrible of a swimmer you are.” He noted, flinching when you splashed water at him. Before you could make a comment about how you had known him for some time now, he leaned forward and pressed his lips to you.
It was always your favorite way to have him shut you up, and the same went for him. Out of all the kisses you had shared with people both in and out of the unit, Anthony was by far your favorite.
His kisses reminded you of the feeling you got when you watched your parents kiss growing up. It was gentle and made your heart ache whenever you saw them because you knew it was something you wanted. Now you finally got to have that sweet kiss, with Anthony.
When the two of you pulled away, your smile sank into a frown when you noticed his own expression shift into something sad, “You know, I don’t think of you as a nut...and I’d wish you’d stop saying that about yourself.” He whispered.
Letting your shoulders sink, you kept quiet while you listened to him, your eyes welling with tears again at the sight of him staring at you the way he did. You both knew you were crazy - hell, that’s why you were here and not out there, but he always made it a priority to make you still feel like a person.
“I’m gonna miss you, you know? But I’ll still keep in touch, write you letters and tell you all about the crazy things Dignan is wrapping me up in,” Quick to change the subject, he pushed some of your hair back and smiled tenderly, “Who knows, maybe when you get out you can join us? I know Dignan will like you. Hell, you two will probably gang up on me any chance you can.”
You liked the idea of joining them in their schemes, to be free and out in the world with Anthony - no longer feeling like a bird trapped in a cage - but despite your constant drift into a dream world you enjoyed living in, you were still a realist when you needed to be, and you knew you’d never be able to go out in the world with him.
“That sounds nice...maybe if we’re on the road we can go and see the Grand Canyon? I’ve never been there before. I hear it’s really nice.” You closed your eyes when you felt him kiss your forehead, moving once he pulled back to let your head fall into the crook of his neck.
“We can go wherever you wanna go. You, me...unfortunately probably Dignan too,” He felt you smile against his neck and his smile only grew, “But it’ll be good. Having you with us...with me.”
The two of you fell into a comfortable silence after that, him holding you while you kept your head pressed into his neck. He ignored the obvious sniffles coming from you as you cried, rubbing your back as the two of you began to mourn the time you two shared.
He would’ve been perfectly fine holding you the rest of the night, until you got tired and wanted to go back, but he was happy to feel you pull back, lightly kicking off him and falling onto your back to float in the water.
Anthony watched you for a bit, listening to you hum one of the songs that played on the radio a lot before swimming towards you, joining you in the back float.
Staring up at the ceiling, Anthony began to wonder what he’d do once he got out. He knew he’d, of course, need to find a job. Maybe his friend Bob could help him with that? He’d want to see Grace too, his little sister, and his parents.
Hell, would they even want to see him?
The rest of the night together in the pool was spent silently floating beside one another, occasionally changing positions so Anthony could hold you in his arms for the last time. When you commented on how your fingers were beginning to prune, the two of you decided that it was probably time to go.
The walk to your room was heavy - you holding onto his hand tightly, your steps much slower than usual. You knew once you said goodnight, you’d also be saying goodbye.
It didn’t come as a surprise to him when he noticed you crying now, and not bothering to hide your tears from him.
You opened your door, ready to say a short goodnight to get it over with - to let your mind pretend you’d see him tomorrow and you two would do your usual day, but Anthony stopped you before you could.
“I’m happy for you!” You rushed out, clinging onto him as he hugged you, “You deserve to be getting out, I’m just-“
“Shh…I know, I know. It’s okay,” Petting your hair, Anthony closed his eyes and tried to focus on not crying himself, wanting to stay strong for you. “Like I said, I’ll still keep in touch. Send you letters and let you know where I’m at. That way when you get out, you can come find me.”
Pulling back, you nodded and sniffled, wiping your nose before carefully untying your bracelet, taking his left hand to bring up, tying it around his wrist.
“Hey, that‘s your bracelet-”
“I know. You’re just keeping it safe for me until I get out,” You smiled when you finished tying it off before looking up at him, “When we see each other again you can give it back.”
Quietly looking at you, Anthony’s lips pulled into a thin line, gaze falling to the bracelet before his other hand came up, fingers lightly grazing over the blue and purple string.
“You’re gonna do great out there. I bet you’re going to get a real cool job and drive one of those fancy cars we see driving down the road-”
Cutting you off with a kiss, Anthony held your face close to him for the last night, taking his time with the kiss to get it all out of him before he left.
He’d miss the feeling in his stomach that he got when he kissed you. Like a bunch of moths were floating around. Your lips always felt soft to him and he wondered if all girls were like that - or if it was just you.
It was you who pulled away this time, gently pushing him back until you both were staring at each other.
This was it. This was the end.
Opening the door to your room, you began to walk in before turning to face Anthony for the last time.
“Have a goodnight.” He whispered.
You smiled weakly and nodded, “Goodbye, Anthony.”

A/N: So I have finally reached season 12 and began the Spencer episode before deciding that I need to take a break before continuing so I did what I always do I procrastinated and wrote this. It may run into a series or juts a few chapter I’m not really sure. Either way hope you enjoy it.
Spencer Reid x F!Reader
Warnings: Mentions of the unsubs crimes, beheading, possible cannibalism. other than that its fluff
Spencer was running trying to catch the elevator before it closed, catching the door in a knick of time. When he steps inside the elevator there is a woman waiting. "Which floor?" She asks but he doesn't hear her too encapsulated with her beauty. “Which floor?” She asks again a little louder, breaking him out of his stupor. “Oh.. Um the 6th floor.” he says before looking to see that the button was already pushed. “Nevermind.” The rest of the ride is silent, Spencer wants to start a conversation but for once he can’t quite find the words. Arriving at the 6th floor he motions for her to exit before him as she walks towards the BAU offices. Trailing behind he walks to place his bag at his desk as he watches her walk directly to Rossi’s office. “You’re staring hard pretty boy, she is gonna notice if you keep that up.” Morgan teases as he walks by. “Who?” Asks JJ joining the conversation as Prentiss and Garcia also walk over to find out what’s going on. Now everyone has gathered to question what is going on. “Pretty boy walked in with his eyes glued to the girl in Rossi’s office.” Morgan responds. “Oooo do you know her? Is she new? Is she joining the BAU?” Garcia rambles through her questions. As they look through the window of Rossi’s office they can see Rossi and the mystery girl hugging they are obviously well acquainted with one another. After a short talk they walk to Hotch’s office. They delve into a deep conversation trying to find out the identity of the mystery girl while teasing Spencer about his obvious crush. Inside Hotch's office, “Y/F/N it’s good to see you again.” Hotch says hugging her. “It’s good to see you too. Although I would prefer if I wasn't pushed into this job but here we are.” Y/N says having a seat next to Rossi. “Well I know you don’t want to be here but we are happy to have you. It looks like almost everything has gone through but they haven’t approved you to work in the field yet. You can join us on the next case, you just aren’t authorized to carry a weapon yet.” “Well you know it’s nothing personal I liked where I was before but I wasn’t given the choice so here I am.” Hotch leaves to announce for everyone to meet in the conference room. “Good Morning everyone this is Dr, Y/F/N Y/L/N she is joining the team as of today.” Hotch introduces her before going right into explaining the case.
On the jet ride the team is heading to Miami where there has been a series of beheadings. Delving deeper into the case the team is discussing possible motives for the unsubs crimes. Well most of the team, Spencer is deep in a daydream about Y/N ever since the moment he first saw her his focus shifted only to her. He wasn’t one to believe in the idea of love at first sight but everytime he looked at her he would just get lost. He has yet to actually start any conversation with Y/N, he wanted to say something, anything really but the words would just get lost. “Reid did you hear me?” Hotch asks as Morgan, Prentiss, and JJ snicker at him. “No sorry what did you say?” “You are with Morgan going to talk with the M.E., Prentiss and JJ are going to the most recent dump site, and Rossi, Y/N and myself are going to the police department to get set up.” When the plane lands they go their separate ways. Morgan and Reid are driving to the morgue when Morgan calls Garcia, “Hey baby girl, do me a favor and patch in Prentiss and JJ.” Once they are all on the phone they get down to business. “What’s the 411 on the new girl?” “Let’s see, Dr. Y/F/N Y/L/N born March XX, 1985. Her father is an Admiral in the Navy, her mother is a Chief Surgeon at James Madison Hospital and she has an older brother that is a Captain in the Navy. Wow lots of achievements with this family. Looks like our newcomer rivals boy wonder in the genius department, she started college at Princeton when she was 8 and has degrees in Criminal Law, Computer Engineering, Molecular Biology and Chemistry. Looks like she has one more Ph.D. than you and she has an IQ of 198. When she was eighteen she was recruited by the DoD (Department of Defense) and worked there until she came to the BAU.” Garcia fills the team in. “Well looks like you have found your perfect match Dr. Reid, so how are you going to ask her out or are you just going to keep staring at her with that blank look on your face?” Morgan asks teasingly. A few hours later everyone is back together at the Miami P.D. office. So far there have been 3 bodies found all missing their heads, bodies dumped in back alleys around the city. Reid is starting a geographic profile while the team discusses the case, “He wants the bodies found they aren’t exactly hidden dump sites.” Prentiss says. “What do you think he is doing with the heads?” The Miami P.D. Chief asks. “He could be keeping them as trophies” Morgan starts to say. “Or he could be eating them.” Y/N finishes saying nonchalantly, not even looking up from the report she is reading. “You can’t be serious?” The Chief asks. He doesn’t receive a verbal answer, the looks from every team member is enough to answer that question. A little while later Y/N walks over to Reid to ask him a question, unfortunately as soon as she starts talking Reid’s mind wanders again. He has so many questions he wants to ask but she doesn’t want her to know that the team was snooping into her earlier. Her voice is so pleasant he could listen to it forever. He makes eye contact and she is looking at him expectedly, he should have been listening instead of just admiring her. “I’m sorry I didn’t hear you.” he lies, well sort of he heard her voice just not what she actually said. “I said did you notice the pattern of the dump sites on the geographical profile.” She says pointing it out to him. How the hell did I miss that he thinks to himself. Working with her is going to be hard.
After finishing up the Miami case the team just arrived back at Quantico starting on case paperwork. It’s quiet for the most part because everyone wants to go home soon. Everyone did notice their new agent was making her way through the paperwork rather quickly, but she is also not engaging in any outside conversation whatsoever. Seemingly finished just a few minutes before Spencer, normally the first person done with paperwork. Y/N says her goodbyes for the night before heading for the elevators. “Go talk to her.” JJ whisper yells at Reid since he is done and can leave. Just like a few mornings before Spencer runs to make the elevator swinging his bag in to catch the door. Now inside the elevator he wasn’t sure what he should do. He didn't have a plan but standing in awkward silence again would just be awful. “Did you know there are six elevator related deaths per year.” As soon as the words leave his mouth he regrets it. He is surprised that instead of asking why he would say something like that while they are in an elevator he hears laughter. “Well that's one hell of an icebreaker. Not the one I would choose but I guess it works.” He is at a loss for words again, he doesn’t understand why talking to her is so difficult. “I promise I am not an idiot. I just don’t know how to talk to you.” He says without a second thought. “You could talk to me just like you talk to anyone else.” “It’s not that easy.” He says as they walk out of the building towards the parking garage. “Well if you prefer we can continue trading random information, did you know the inventor of the frisbee was cremated and made into a frisbee after he died.” She says the expression on her face is unchanging. Spencer didn’t know what to do with this information, was she expecting him to question the fact or respond with one of his own. But it's too late now they have reached there cars, she bids him goodnight stating she would see him tomorrow.

Dani updates something. The world must be truly coming to an end. Read below or here on AO3
Like most great wars, it was started by something small.
Kagome picked up her laptop from where it had been sitting on the coffee table and carried it into her bedroom, rubbing her eyes tiredly. Perhaps it hadn’t been a good idea to invite Inuyasha over for movie and pizza, but when she’d texted him earlier in the day and heard about his crap day at work, she’d extended an impromptu invite. Sango hadn’t minded, and it had been fun, even if he did spend most of the night using her laptop to debunk theories in the spy thriller they’d watched.
When he’d first arrived, he’d been his usual grumpy self, but by the end of the movie, he was in an excellent mood. It was nice to see him happy, although she wasn’t exactly sure what had caused the change in attitude. The pizza had probably helped. She’d never seen anyone consume pizza like Inuyasha could. It worried her sometimes, the types of food he ate, even though he argued that an inuhanyou’s metabolism was very different to a human’s and you couldn’t compare the two.
Anyway, it didn’t matter. If her friend was happy, then so was she. He had such a nice smile, and she tried to do her best to help it come out at every opportunity. They were just friends, she knew that, but his smile was just… it gave her butterflies.
Calling out a sleepy goodnight to Sango, she wandered into her bedroom yawning, wishing she could flop straight onto the bed and close her eyes. But unfortunately, she still had the proposed media releases for the Starlight Foundation’s upcoming fundraiser event to read through before a breakfast meeting tomorrow. She knew if she’d stayed to go over them at work she’d have to walk home from the train station in the dark, so she’d emailed them to her personal laptop before she’d left for the day.
Slipping into her comfy pj’s and snuggling under the covers, she opened up her laptop, then blinked slowly, her head tilting slightly as she tried to make sense of what she was seeing.
Everything was upside down.
Her whole screen was the opposite of how it should look. She exited out of her email program, noting with apprehension that her desktop was also upside down, then opened it up again. Still upside down. Crap! Was this a virus? She’d let the virus protection on her laptop lapse because she’d had to buy a new dress to wear to the fundraising ball, and she’d seen the perfect dress and there’d been a sale, and she had to get the extra money from somewhere. What if it the virus somehow got back to her work computer? Shit, shit, shit!
Quickly googling ‘everything on my computer screen is upside down’, and tilting the screen and her head so she could read the upside down words, she breathed a sigh of relief when she worked out it was an easy fix. Using the Ctrl, Alt and arrow keys she quickly set it to rights, sending up a silent thank you prayer to the IT gods, with a promise that she would update her virus protection asap. She wasn’t sure how her screen had got that way, but right now she was too tired to care.
The next evening, when she sat down with Sango to watch the latest episode of Masterchef, the tv remote refused to work. With their cider going warm and the avocado dip congealing on the cheese platter they’d prepared, they both tried to get the remote to work, giving it a tap and shake to no avail.
After repeated attempts at removing the batteries and rotating them, while Sango went through the junk drawer in the kitchen in a fruitless search for new batteries, Kagome finally noticed the tiny scrap of black tape over the sensor on the remote.
She removed it, and the remote worked again. She looked suspiciously at Sango, narrowing her eyes. She smelled a prank. But Sango loved watching Masterchef as much as she did, and was complaining bitterly about them missing a souffle failure. Masterchef was one of the highlights of their week. Nope, it wasn’t Sango. But someone was definitely having fun at their expense.
Two nights later, when she bit into an Oreo from her secret treat stash in her bedside drawer, and found the sweet creamy filling had been replaced with toothpaste, she knew there was a prank war going on. And as far as she knew, there was only one person who knew about her secret stash, because he’d busted her one night stuffing her face when he’d popped his head in her room to say good night.
Inuyasha.
He’d had time to do all these things on their movie night. He’d used her laptop. He’d had access to the remote. And now that she thought about it, there’d been that suspicious amount of time he’d spent in the bathroom, which neither of them had questioned because he’d muttered a warning about steering clear of the bathroom for a while to give the air a chance to clear. But that would have enabled him access to both the bathroom and her bedroom while her and Sango were engrossed in the movie. No wonder he’d been so cheerful that evening when he left. Inuyasha had pranked her.
But what he didn’t know, was that Kagome was a seasoned campaigner when it came to prank wars. Her and Souta had it down to a fine art, coming up with bigger and better pranks all the time, to the point that one year her mother hand banned them totally, because things were getting out of hand.
The corners of her mouth turned up in a sinister smile, and she let out a chuckle worthy of a cartoon villain. Alright. If he wanted a war, he’d get one.
It was on, like Donkey Kong.
Inuyasha sighed moodily. It wasn’t that he disliked his job necessarily, it was just a job, and it paid the bills, and gave him enough time off to do all the other things he enjoyed doing. But on days like today, when the shop was empty as a tomb, and his phone battery had gone flat, he was ready to expire from boredom. He was just toying with the idea of using a charging cable from the one’s in stock, when a familiar scent drifted across his senses as the shop bell rang.
“How’s my favourite hanyou doing?” Kagome grinned, watching his ears perk up as she walked in.
“I’m fucking bored to tears”, he said, standing up from where he’d been slumped against the counter. He glanced at the clock on the wall, then looked back at her with concern. “Hey. Aren’t you home from work a little early? You’re not sick are ya?”
“No, no, I’m going to work from home this afternoon, seeing I’ve been going into the office so early this week”, Kagome answered breezily. “I just popped in to bring you something.”
“Huh?”
“I tried out a new recipe for chocolate chip cookies, and I know how much you like them, so I saved some for you. That should make your afternoon more interesting.”
Inuyasha sniffed the tupperware container she handed over appreciatively. Kagome was a good cook, and even though the plastic blocked most of the smell, he could tell they would be tasty, because everything Kagome made was delicious. And chocolate chip cookies were his favourites. Fucking sweet!
“Thanks Kagome! You’re the best, you know that?”
His conscience twitched slightly as he thought about the toothpaste oreo’s he’d hidden in her drawer. He’d had a crap day that day, and playing those little pranks on her had cheered him up immensely. He’d often played pranks on his half brother Sesshoumaru back when he’d come to visit Dad during school holidays, to see if he could budge the stick that the older youkai seemed to have permanently wedged up his arse. The oreo trick had been one of his favourites. But here she was baking for him. Maybe she hadn’t found them yet. Perhaps he could replace them with a whole new packet before she ate one, seeing she’d bought him these. He grinned at her.
“You wanna stay and eat some with me Kittycat?”
“I’m afraid I can’t”, Kagome said with a sorrowful expression. “Lots to do. But I’m sure you’ll enjoy them!” With a cheery wave, she walked out of the door.
Inuyasha smiled, looking down at the container in his hands. She’d put a post it note on the lid, with ‘For Inuyasha’ written in curly swoopy cursive. She was a good friend, had fit into his life so completely that he didn’t know what he’d do if she suddenly disappeared. He was so glad he’d helped her that day she’d walked in to the shop with her bad cold.
Taking off the lid and not even pausing to take a sniff, he picked up one of the delectable looking cookies and stuffed the whole thing in his mouth, chewing appreciatively, until a distinctive taste hit his tongue. He nearly spat the contents of his mouth out on the floor, but ended up swallowing the mouthful with distaste, knowing he’d be the one that would have to clean up the mess. Those weren’t chocolate chips…
Fucking raisins!
The wench knew he hated them. What the fuck? Who would replace innocent chocolate chips with fucking raisins, the worlds most vile dried fruit – that was… was evil!
The post-it note fluttered off the lid, and he noticed a smiley face drawn on the back with some more of Kagome’s swirling cursive.
‘That’s payback for the Oreos dog boy! ❤ K.’
He snorted, about to tip the cookies in the bin, then deciding to put them aside to give to Myoga. The old man had taste in his arse, he’d probably love them, especially if he told him Kagome made them. But Kagome. What was he going to do about sweet little innocent Kagome? It looked like he’d finally found a worthy adversary.
It had been two weeks since she’d given Inuyasha the cookies, and there had been no retaliation. She sniggered, remembering his face when she’d asked him how he’d liked his cookies – the rolled eyes, the huff of irritation. Sweet manna to her soul. But then he hadn’t done anything about it. Frankly Kagome was a little disappointed. It was a shame, because she’d really enjoyed baking the biscuits for him and imagining his face when he bit into one, but she guessed that not everyone liked pranks. The Oreo incident had probably been a one off.
She flicked on the lamp next to the sofa, ready to sit down and enjoy her book and her cocoa with the last of the tiny little marshmallows, and shrieked, slopping the hot liquid down her pyjama shirt. Sango came running.
“Kagome, are you okay?!”
“Cockroach!”, she shrieked, pointing at the lamp, ready to hurl her book at it. The shadow of the insect was clearly visible on the inside of the lamp shade. “Quick Sango, get the bug spray!”
“On it!” Sango hollered, running into the kitchen, clearly ready to unload half the can on the offending interloper. Kagome kept her eye locked on the insect, wanting to be ready in case it flew towards her, holding up her book like a shield. The insect was still. Very still. So still in fact she bravely moved closer to take a better look.
She pulled the cut out picture of a giant cockroach from the inside of the lamp and held it up for Sango’s inspection as she approached with a jumbo sized can of spray. Sango looked incredulously at the paper insect, and then back at Kagome, who was looking at the cut out with a strange expression of glee.
“Inuyasha?” asked Sango hesitantly, unsure exactly what was going on, but making an informed guess.
“Yup!” replied Kagome happily, popping the ‘p’ with relish. Looked like Inuyasha was playing a long game. She could do that.
They were strolling along the High Line, or rather Kagome was strolling, and Inuyasha was following along reluctantly. It was only the promise of beer and a burger at the end of this outing that had made him go along.
“Isn’t it lovely here?”
“Kagome, it’s a bridge. With plants on it. And tourists.”
“But it’s so nice! Isn’t it amazing? All these green things growing in the middle of the city.” She twirled around with her arms out wide, nearly taking out some backpackers, then grabbed his hand, dragging him over to a small garden filled with purple daisies.
“Can we take a selfie here together? Please?” She pulled her phone out of her pocket, and then pouted dramatically. “Aw, I’m all out of battery.”
She looked up at Inuyasha and gave him a sweet smile, and he rolled his eyes, shoving his hand in his jeans pocket to pluck out his phone.
“Fine, use mine”, he drawled, unlocking his phone and handing it over to her. “But don’t go filling it up with cutesy photos, alright?” He didn’t mind really though. Kagome was always taking photos of them together on her phone, and he didn’t have any on his. It might be nice to have at least one of them together.
Kagome smiled up at him, and they did the usual shuffle so they would both fit in the confines of the screen – her standing on tiptoes, and him curving his body downwards.
“Say cheese!”
He grinned automatically, his lopsided smile revealing one fang, his cheek resting on the top of Kagome’s head. She’d told him she was using a new shampoo, one that didn’t smell quite as much, after reading up on different scents that bothered youkai, and he appreciated the fact that she’d done something like that for him. He sighed, breathing in her sweet smell, which blocked out the usual stench of the city.
“Thank you” said Kagome softly, mindful of how close she was to his ears. She kissed his cheek gently, and he couldn’t help the sappy grin that crossed his face. “I’m just gonna message the photo to my phone, okay? That way we’ve both got a copy.”
“Uh sure.”
He straightened up, feeling his heart beating a little faster for some reason. He obviously needed to get to the gym more often if walking along a bridge and dodging tourists got his heart rate up.
She handed him back his phone and then tugged on his hand. He slipped his phone back into his pocket.
“C’mon! I promised I’d buy you a beer and a burger. There’s a pub just under the bridge that’s meant to be awesome. I was reading reviews about it last night.”
He smiled fondly at her, taking in her wide grin and the spring sunshine bouncing off her dark hair. Such a bubbly person. He honestly didn’t know what Kagome saw in him. But he was very glad that she liked hanging out.
He had such a fun afternoon talking, laughing, eating, then walking her back to her apartment, that he realised he’d never looked at the photo she’d taken. He pulled his phone from his pocket and unlocked it, then snorted when he looked at his screen. He didn’t know how she’d done it, but somehow, she’d changed every single app icon to different pictures of kittens. Nice one. His lips curled into a smile, already planning on what he could do to get her back.
He flicked open his photo app and stared at the photo of them together, standing in the sunlight surrounded by purple daisies in the middle of a bustling city, the wind blowing their hair so the white and black intermingled. He saved it as his lock screen.
Kagome hated dusting. But she loved knick nacks, so dusting was a necessity. She just couldn’t bear to throw things away, and kept all sorts of little mementoes that wouldn’t mean anything to other people, but meant a lot to her. Spraying a little bit more polish on the rag, she ran it over the shelves of the bookcase in the hallway, picking up a photo frame absentmindedly so she could dust underneath. And then she double blinked.
Taking a closer look at the photo, she snorted with laughter. It was a photo of the four of them, one someone had taken when they’d won the pub trivia championship.
She didn’t know how he’d done it, or when, but somehow Inuyasha had used a photo editing program to replace all their faces, hers, Sango’s, Miroku’s and his own, with the features of Nicholas Cage. Not entirely original, but funny all the same.
She turned the frame over to find the original photo stuck to the back. Miroku had his arm carelessly around Sango’s shoulders and Sango was blushing – no doubt Miroku had just whispered something perverted in her ear.
She was standing next to Sango, and Inuyasha was standing directly behind her, bending down so his chin rested on the top of her head. It made her smile, the way he draped himself on her for photos – it was often the only way they both fit, because he was so much taller than her.
He was so amazing, he took her breath away sometimes, just like he had that first time in the store. It was like he didn’t know how beautiful he was. She turned the photo around again, giggling at how ridiculous they all looked. She had to hand it to him, that was tricky. Time to up her game.
Inuyasha was pulling his boots on when there was a knock on his front door, but it was expected. He’d ordered a box of Krispy Kreme’s to bring to Miroku’s regular card night, and it had arrived right on time. Salted Double Caramel Crunch. He always ordered a box, knowing the girls liked them, and having a not so secret love of them himself. Kagome was always at him to eat healthier, worried about all the salty and sugary foods he enjoyed eating, but he was half youkai – his metabolism could handle nearly anything.
Carrying the box carefully, he walked the two blocks to Miroku’s house, a tiny bit late because he’d had to wait for the delivery, but it wasn’t like anyone would care. They were already there, Miroku shuffling the cards, Sango sipping a beer, and Kagome sitting on the sofa, her eyes lighting up when he walked in the door. Sometimes she was so fucking cute, he couldn’t stand it.
He plonked the box down on the centre of the table, and walked across to Miroku’s fridge, opening the door to snag himself a beer.
Sango opened the box eagerly, and then laughed uproariously.
“Are you on a health kick Inuyasha?” she sniggered.
“Huh?”
Opening up the sides of the box, she revealed carrot, celery and cucumber sticks, along with a plastic container of hummus.
“What the fuck?!”
Kagome came to stand behind him. “Oh, good boy! You finally listened to me about eating healthier foods. You’re gonna feel so much better!” she said, patting him on the shoulder.
Inuyasha turned his head, raising an eyebrow.
“Really Kagome? Kidnapping innocent donuts?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about”, Kagome said, her expression all wide eyed and innocent. “Bu-ut if you wanted a donut as a little treat for being a good boy, after you’ve eaten some healthy veggies of course, there’s a plate of Salted Double Caramel Crunch ones in the kitchen. I know they’re your favourites.”
Kagome was tired. So tired. It had been a hectic week at work in the lead up to the fundraising ball, and all she wanted to do was curl up on the sofa with a nice cup of sleepy tea before heading off to bed. She opened the cupboard to reach in for her favourite mug, but her hand clutched on empty air.
Huffing impatiently, she stood up on tiptoe, unable to quite see onto the shelf. Sango was taller than her, and sometimes she pushed the mugs back too far in the cupboard for her to reach. But her hand still grasped at nothing. Were they all in the dishwasher?
She opened up the dishwasher, but it was empty. Sighing impatiently, she went into the hall cupboard to fetch the little step stool she used to reach the higher shelves, but it wasn’t there. Or in the bathroom.
Smelling a rat, or rather a dog, she walked slowly back into the kitchen, her eyes roving around for anything amiss. And then she noticed them. Every single mug, cup and glass was placed on top of the cupboards, way out of her reach. Kagome frowned.
This… this one hurt a little. Inuyasha knew she was sensitive about her height. At 5’2” she was the shortest person in her family, with even Souta towering over her now, and her height was a family joke.
When they first met, Inuyasha used to tease her about it all the time too, but he didn’t any more, knowing that it upset her. The only thing that had stuck was her nickname, Kittycat, which she didn’t mind so much, she kind of liked the way he said it. But…
She sighed, climbing up onto the bench top and balancing on her tippy toes, one arm stretched up to reach for a mug, the other windmilling frantically as she almost lost her balance. This game. It didn’t feel quite as much fun anymore.
Inuyasha sipped his beer silently, sitting alone in their regular booth at the pub. Miroku had tried to engage him in conversation, but had eventually given up when every answer was a surly one syllable reply, and had gone over to the pool table to join a game.
They were waiting for the girls to arrive for their regular pub trivia night, but his heart wasn’t really in it tonight. He was annoyed at Kagome. She’d called him a ‘good boy’. Offered him a treat, like a dog. In front of other people. And it rankled, especially since she was usually the one who would defend him when others poked fun at his ears or his inuyoukai heritage. Somehow it hurt ten times worse coming from her, because it was unexpected. She did call him dog boy sometimes, but that hit different, because it was a nickname, a term of endearment. Being called a ‘good boy’ felt derogatory.
Maybe it had been petty, putting all the things up out of her reach, especially when he knew she was sensitive about her height, but he’d felt like being fucking petty. This game they were playing wasn’t as much fun as it had been.
His ear twitched as he heard the raised voices of Sango and Kagome over the general noise. Sango was disagreeing with her over something, asking her if it really was a good idea, and Kagome was shushing her, moving through the crowd towards them. She seemed a little off balance somehow, like she was walking differently, leaning slightly to one side.
As soon as he got closer he saw why. Her arm was in a sling.
The mugs. The fucking mugs. He’d put them all up out of her reach and hidden her step ladder under her bed. And of course because she was the clumsiest woman on this side of the planet, she’d managed to hurt herself. And it was all his fault. Fucking shit. He was the worst person alive.
Gulping, he pushed himself out of the booth, moving over towards them. Sango was still glowering at her, probably telling her it was a bad idea to be out at a pub when she was injured. And she was right. Maybe he should take her home. He couldn’t see a cast, so maybe her arm wasn’t broken. But even if it was just sprained, that was bad enough, because he knew it was coming up to the busiest time of year for her at work.
When he got closer, Sango greeted him shortly and then moved off to find Miroku. She obviously was angry at him, because she should be. Because he was a shit friend, who’d done something to someone who he cared about very much.
“Kagome…”
“Hey Inuyasha”, she said, looking downwards, her voice dejected, her arm cradled against her side carefully in the sling. “How are you?”
Unable to stop himself, he wrapped his arms around her carefully, like she was made of glass, avoiding her injured arm. She was so tiny, so fragile. So breakable.
Kittycat, I’m so sorry. I just didn’t think.” He stroked her hair gently, running his clawed fingers through her dark curls. “Does it hurt too much? Have you had it x-rayed? If you want, I can take tomorrow off and take you to out patients. What ever you need, okay? I’m such a shit, I can’t believe I-“
Kagome cleared her throat. “Inuyasha?”
“Do you need to sit down?”
“No, I’m fine. I’m okay, really.” He watched as she pulled her arm out of the sling, and he flinched, his own hands moving reflexively, ready to steady her. “I really am fine. I almost fell, but then I didn’t. I didn’t get hurt. This is just to… to prank…um, gotcha?” she gulped as the concerned expression on Inuyasha’s face turned to ire.
He blinked at her, stony faced, then marched out of the pub, uncaring about Kagome calling after him.
He marched down the street, anger fueling his long strides, uncaring that Kagome’s voice was getting further and further away. He could hear her running to try and keep up, and he was bitterly amused about her tiny little human legs not being long or strong enough, until he heard her misstep and almost fall. Fuck. If she really did fall, which was totally a possibility because she was the biggest klutz on both sides of the planet…
He turned and marched back towards her, then waited, his arms crossed. She ran up to him, panting, leaning over to catch her breath.
“That wasn’t fucking funny Kagome.”
“I’m sorry”, she gasped. “I should have listened to Sango. She said it was too much. I was just annoyed about you putting everything up so high. And when I almost fell it gave me the idea.” She sighed. “But you’re right, it wasn’t funny.”
“Damn right it wasn’t!” he snarled. “I thought you were injured, and you know I’d never do anything to deliberately hurt you. Between this and the ‘good dog’ comment, I’m fucking-“
“What! I’d never-“
“It was implied. I was a ‘good boy’, who could have a ‘treat’? And then I suppose when you faked an injury you thought the good dog would whine about it and look after you? What did you do, read up on Inu youkai protective instincts or something? I bet you had a good laugh about it, huh?” He huffed out a heavy breath. “I don’t like this game we're playing anymore Kagome.”
“Inuyasha, I never meant it that way. I was teasing, but I’d never…” She was openly crying now, hugging her arms around herself. “Please, I’m so sorry. Please.”
She looked so pitiful that he relented, wrapping his arm around her shaking shoulders.
“I’m still annoyed Kagome”, he sighed. “But it’ll be okay so stop crying. No more pranks, okay?”
“No more”, she sobbed, pushing her face into his side. “I promise.”
Seeing a bench close by, he tugged her hand over to sit down beside him, patting her on the shoulder as she continued to cry.
“Hey c’mon now. Stop crying. I said it would be okay.”
“I really am sorry”, she sniffled. “I guess I don’t know when to stop. Maybe that was why Mama banned me and Souta from pranking each other.”
“You used to prank your brother? Hey, me too.” He rubbed her shoulder as she leaned into him. “Not all of them were bad. Look see, I still got kittens on my phone.” Kagome smiled, her cheeks wet with tears, and pulled out her own phone.
"Look, our lock screens match", she said softly, showing him the photo of them both standing in the sunshine surrounded by purple daisies. She wiped away her tears, taking a deep breath.
“I put the Nicholas Cage trivia team photo on the fridge so Sango and I can see it all the time”, she said shyly. “It makes me laugh. Are you gonna tell me how you did it?”
“Nope, I’ll take my secrets to the grave”, he grinned, then sighed. She still smelt like guilt and sadness. “C’mon Kagome. Cheer up.”
“Inuyasha, please believe me when I say that when I said ‘good boy’ I didn’t mean it the way you thought I did”, she hiccuped, looking at him intently. “I promise. I just didn’t think. I promise I won’t call you that again. And if I ever say anything that hurts your feelings like that, please tell me.”
“Okay. And I promise I won’t hide your things up high again. That was kinda mean too.”
“Okay. Are we good now?”
“We’re good.”
Kagome reached out her arms and hugged him around the waist. “Good. Because I hate fighting with you.”
He squeezed her back affectionately, then pulled her to her feet. “You ready to go kick some trivia butt Kittycat?”
“You bet.”
"Oh, and you need to make some more raisin cookies for Myoga. The old coot hasn't stopped raving about them."

I’ll never forget it. I’ll make sure your birthday is something special that you won’t forget either, so look forward to it!
2 (Good night): If you can’t sleep, I know a special spell that’ll help. You’re getting sleepy~, very sleepy~… Oh, it’s not working? Then…*kiss*…… Uh, g-goodnight Ojou! See you tomorrow!
3 (Good morning): It’s morning, Ojou. Haha, you still look sleepy. Ah, you have a bedhead. I’ll fix it, so face this way. Let’s see…hm, alright! Perfect! I mean it! …It’s cute, isn’t it?
Special 1 (Your nicknames): Nicknames? Well first there’s Hero Liberta, right? Hero Liberta and…well the rest are Chick Head, Foolerta, Ocean Idiot…aggh! I’ll never accept those!
2 (Favorite women’s hairstyle): Huh!? My favorite women’s hairstyle? W-well, whatever’s fine if it looks good on her. Y-yours really suits you, Ojou… Your long hair is nice…and it smells good… Uwah!! A nosebleed!?
3 (Favorite word): Speranza! It’s such a nice word. Hehe, it means hope after all! If you have hope you can keep trying and never give up! I’m going towards the future with Speranza! You’ll be with me then too, right Ojou?
4 (First impression of the heroine): I think I was around 12 when I first met you, Ojou. I was so nervous back then. I don’t think I talked at all the whole day. It feels strange that it’s so natural that you’re beside me now
5 (Looking back on the incident): After going back to normal, that incident almost feels like a dream. But I know you and me both have memories from the ghost ship. I’ll ask Ash to let us on the ship sometime. Then we can remember all that happened together
Free talk (Liberta’s CV, Jun Fukuyama): Arcana Famiglia Special Episode: Vascello Fantasma no Majutsushi. Hi, I’m Jun Fukuyama and I played Liberta. Thank you and congratulations for clearing it! So, how was it? Oh, yeah! No no no, really? Wow, seriously. Liberta really, ahhhh. I’ll tell you now, but I wasn’t prepared at all. Well anyway, it’s great that I’m able to talk to you, or for you to listen to me again like this. I was in the main Arcana Famiglia game that came out October 27th 2011. And then right after that, the special episode, Vascello Fantasma no Majutsushi. Vascello Fantasma no Majutsushi. Vascello Fantasma no Majutsushi. Wow, it was so fast. And I was so excited! Anyway, I’m always super sweaty and going to the cooler when we’re recording. Well, summer started when we were recording. And now it’s winter. It’s been that long. Er, not summer, I mean autumn. Well anyway, in this special episode a character named Ash gets involved with Arcana Famiglia. We have a new friend in the Family now, and I think that’s great. So I sure hope you keep playing and spend time with all the characters in the Family. I think that’d be great. And also it’d be nice if you could all find a family like this one. I’m sure there’s one out there for you. Bye!
Nova
Introduction (Introduce yourself): My name is Nova. Is that all you wanted to ask?
Affiliation (What role do you have in the organization?): As the Executive of the Chalices, I’m in charge of the mansion’s security and patrolling the town. They are not just walks
Talents (What are you good at?): I’ll say one thing. Following the rules is not a talent, it should be a given
Arcana (Use your Arcana Powers): Sleep. La Tenebrore Addormentato!
Ultimate Technique: Heavenly wind, grant power to my blade! Fuuka Renyu!
Comment (A few words to the heroine): Don’t forget. Now that you’ve joined the Family, you have to work hard. Learn from me. It’ll help you
ED Bonus 1 (Birthday celebration): When my birthday comes around, I look back on the past year, reflect, and set new goals for myself. I know what it’ll be for this year. I want to be able to express my feelings better. First of all, thank you for celebrating my birthday. It made me happy
2 (Good night): You can’t sleep? Then, would you like to talk? You might start to get sleepy that way. There’s no need to thank me. I couldn’t sleep either. We can make some sweet café and talk in the dining room. Tell me anything you want
3 (Good morning): It’s rare for you to come to the garden this early in the morning. It was raining hard yesterday, so were you worried about the roses? They’re fine, and blooming nicely. The morning sun reflecting off the dewdrops on their leaves looks beautiful. I’m glad I could see this scene with you
Special 1 (Your nicknames): Listen to this. It turns out I’ve gotten even more nicknames. It’s Soybean now, but why is it always beans and peas! I’ve been called a little kid, “shrimp”, “chickpea”…I’m…I’m…not that short!
2 (Favorite women’s hairstyle): I think anything’s alright as long as it’s appropriate for the occasion. I do think yours looks hard to take care of since it’s so long. But, it’s not bad. I like the way it looks on you
3 (Favorite word): I like the phrase “make good on your word”. It’s a saying from Giappone that means you should always do what you say you will. I think promises are important. Especially the one I made with you
4 (First impression of the heroine): The day we first met… I could never forget that. I remember being nervous about meeting my fiancée, but I really didn’t need to be. We were able to talk naturally somehow. That might have been thanks to your personality
5 (Looking back on the incident): There haven’t been any big incidents at the harbor or surrounding seas since then. Except Regalo now being home to Ash’s ghost ship, anyway. What happened on that ship caused me to change, so I don’t think I’ll ever forget it
Free talk (Nova’s CV, Tsubasa Yonaga): Well, were you able to find happiness with me? …Anyway, hi! I’m Tsubasa Yonaga and I played Nova! Congratulations to all of you for clearing the game this far! Um well, so I got to play Nova-kun again, how was it? In comparison to the first Arcana Famiglia, Nova’s love level? Love level? Affection level? I guess it would be affection level for Nova. I think it was way higher now. What did you think? While I was playing him, I thought he’d gotten way, way cuter! I-I might think of him like my son now, haha. Well, Nova-kun’s 15 after all. 15 year olds get all embarrassed like this when talking with the person they like, and you got to see a lot of that with this special episode of Arcana Famiglia. He’s still lacking a bit, but I really hope that you all stick around and watch how Nova keeps on growing! Haha, into a really cute kid. He’s only 15, so he’s got a lot to learn! I personally would want to teach Nova a lot of things if he was real. So don’t think badly of him, ok? He’s not a bad guy. He’s just not that honest. It’ll be fine, he’ll be able to express himself even better from now on. I promise! Hahaha. That’s what he said to all of you who played his route, so look forward to it! And keep supporting Arcana Famiglia from now on too! Let’s meet again somewhere. Take care!
Debito
Introduction (Introduce yourself): Nice to meet you, Bambina. I’m Debito. You can remember that, right?
Affiliation (What role do you have in the organization?): I let my subordinates do most of my work with the Coins. But, I do what I have to
Talents (What are you good at?): I can tell if someone’s cheating. It’s boring to win like that anyway
Arcana (Use your Arcana Powers): See if you can spot me. Tra Coppo Scomparire…!
Ultimate Technique: Freeze…freeze everyone over! Odio Freddo!
Comment (A few words to the heroine): If you want to learn about a proper Regalo greeting, come see me. I’ll make sure teach you everything I know
ED Bonus 1 (Birthday celebration): Having you celebrate my birthday isn’t so bad. It makes for a rare and valuable experience. Or maybe not. You’ll be celebrating it every year, right? Then this happiness will always last
2 (Good night): What good timing. I was going to come see you before I went to sleep. They say the person you think about a lot will appear in your dreams. But that’s just a superstition. I prefer the real thing to a dream though
3 (Good morning): You’re going out early today? Me? That’s obvious, I’m taking a siesta. Hm, why’d you grab my arm? You’re quite enthusiastic today. Haha, alright. I’ll go along with the whims of our young lady for today. Let’s go, Bambina
Special 1 (Your nicknames): Nicknames, huh…well putting being called an “eroticist” and “obscene” aside, I don’t mind “Orion of Regalo”. Why don’t you try calling me that in that cute voice of yours, Bambina?
2 (Favorite women’s hairstyle): Hairstyles…are you saying you’ll do yours in a way I like? Then maybe try taking off your ribbons when we’re alone. I like seeing you look more grown up than usual
3 (Favorite word): My favorite word is siesta. There’s nothing else. So I’m going to my special place for a siesta right now. Oh, you want to come too? You’re always welcome, Bambina
4 (First impression of the heroine): I could never forget when we first met, Bambina. Luca just wouldn’t stop talking about what a cute little creature his Ojou-sama was. He wasn’t lying though. You’ve charmed me ever since
5 (Looking back on the incident): We’re finally back home. Ugh, I’m so tired. It’s weird though, it never really felt like home before. But I guess it’s because you’re here. Ha, you really are a fine woman, Bambina
Free talk (Debito’s CV, Hiroyuki Yoshino): Hello, it’s been a while. This is Hiroyuki Yoshino from Sigma Seven and I voiced Debito. So anyway, this is the special episode for Arcana Famiglia, but I guess you can just call it the second one? I think everyone who played the first one understood exactly what was going on, but if you just started with this one uh…yeah, you should probably go back to the first one… I don’t think it’s a good idea to go in blind here. Yeah? Anyway, this is set in an Italian-like…or I guess it is Italy? Well an island on Earth somewhere. I think that’s what it is. But all the characters, the members of this Family are here for the player, you, that’s right, you, to enjoy! So how was it? I hope you enjoyed it. Okay, bye-bye! What was that…
Pace
Introduction (Introduce yourself): There’s no restaurant on this island that doesn’t know the name, Pace!
Affiliation (What role do you have in the organization?): I’m the Executive of the Clubs and the Deputy Chief Executive. Basically I’m really important, trust me!
Talents (What are you good at?): Eating a lot is…just normal for me. Uh, what else?
Arcana (Use your Arcana Powers): I’ll entrust everything to my fists. Porci Tutto Trapassare!!
Ultimate Technique: The earth gives rise to strength…a power that dominates everything…! Mamma Mia!
Comment (A few words to the heroine): Ojou, look at all the plates on the table! Of course I saved some for you! Let’s eat together
ED Bonus 1 (Birthday celebration): My birthday present was a giant lasagna! Everyone really gets me~. Ojou, there’s actually one other present I’d like, is that okay? Can you come closer… Hehe, you’re mine, Ojou~
2 (Good night): I got to see you before I went to sleep, I’m so lucky! I tried making a wish to the moon earlier that I could see you. Then I ran into you, Ojou! So can you stay with me a little longer?
3 (Good morning): I think I’ll have a freshly baked lasagna for breakfast~. Hehe, I get so excited just thinking about food. Huh, you don’t? I feel the most happy when I’m eating meals with you
Special 1 (Your nicknames): Debito called me an idiot again! I’m not that much of an idiot. Luca also says my glasses are wasted on me, isn’t that awful!? My glasses are useful! They let me see how cute you are, Ojou!
2 (Favorite women’s hairstyle): I think I like scents more than hairstyles. Your hair always smells so sweet when I hug you, Ojou. I guess that’s something unique to you
3 (Favorite word): Lasagna! I get motivated when I yell “lasagna”. I guess that’s because it’s my favorite, and it reminds me of my mother. Ah, but I like calling out “Ojou” too! Ojou~! Haha, I’m so happy!
4 (First impression of the heroine): When I first met you? Of course I remember! You were so cute. I just wanted to touch your face so bad. …Ah, I did didn’t I? O-Ojou~!? Please don’t kick me!
5 (Looking back on the incident): I still can’t believe we were actually on a ghost ship. But I still have the injuries I got as proof that I protected you from the tiger and skeletons. You even treated them for me, and I got to see my mother. They were good memories
Free talk (Pace’s CV, Tomokazu Sugita): Lasagna. I’m Tomokazu Sugita and I played Pace. I did all my recording in the morning this time, so I would become this cheerful Italian idiot first thing in the morning. It was hard. But it was worth it. I think it’d be nice to have someone so happy and positive like him around, especially when he’s eating lasagna. So I think people like Pace are important. He’s also good friends with Debito and Luca-kun, and the balance between the three of them is really interesting. Besides their romantic feelings for Ojou-sama, I really felt like they also valued their bond with each other. But it really was hard. The producer was all like “and for this part you have to blah blah blah” and I was like ahhh this is so hard. And when I looked at the script it was all “ahh!” and “waaah!” and “gyaaah!” and “lasagna!!” so I had a hard time making them all sound unique. I tried really hard. But I wonder if you all could tell…this is the clear bonus now, right? How was it? There’s only one answer…I’m hungry! I’m going to have ravioli tonight and pretend it’s lasagna.
Luca
Introduction (Introduce yourself): It’s me, Luca. Did you call for me, Ojou-sama?
Affiliation (What role do you have in the organization?): I’ve been serving as your attendant for the past 13 years, Ojou-sama. And I still am!
Talents (What are you good at?): I like sewing and I’m good at it, but… I’ll answer alchemy here!
Arcana (Use your Arcana Powers): Fire, water, earth, sky, I seek the harmony of light in all elements… L’Armonia della Luce!!
Ultimate Technique: Light calls for happiness, and exists together with the people…! Quattro Felicita!
Comment (A few words to the heroine): Whether isn’t about your morning schedule or today’s dolce, you can ask me anything!
ED Bonus 1 (Birthday celebration): My birthday this year feels special. It’s my first one since we became a couple! Ojou-sama…can I ask something from you? Please spend all day tomorrow with me. I want time alone together to be my present
2 (Good night): *laugh* You look sleepy. You can go back to your room early. You’ll wait for me? Alright, thank you. I’ll make some tea so you’ll have a good dream as thanks
3 (Good morning): I’m happy being able to see your cute sleeping face like this but… Ojou-sama! It’s time to wake up! I’m making breakfast today! If you don’t hurry up, a certain glutton is going to eat it all!
Special 1 (Your nicknames): Ojou-sama, you don’t think I’m a “stalker attendant”, do you? Ah, no! It’s completely untrue! But everyone keeps calling me that. Even Ash underestimates me. Huh, what does Ash call me? …Oh… “useless hat guy”…
2 (Favorite women’s hairstyle): I think straight long hair is the best! It looks great on you, Ojou-sama! It’s part of my job…but I wish I could always brush your hair
3 (Favorite word): My favorite word would be…hmm. “Cooking is alchemy”, I think! Using things that go well together is what brings good results. Maybe it’s because I like both cooking and alchemy
4 (First impression of the heroine): You’ve always been as cute as a doll, Ojou-sama. I can’t believe I didn’t notice it back then. Huh? …Why are you giving me that fed up look? Ah, wait, don’t go, Ojou-samaaaa!!
5 (Looking back on the incident): We’ve finally returned to Regalo, but I’m still sore all over. But I’m proud of it because it shows I was able to protect you. I promise I’ll protect you if something like this happens again. So you can count on me
Free talk (Luca’s CV, Yuichi Nakamura): To everyone who cleared Luca’s route, hello. I’m Yuichi Nakamura, his voice actor. I’ll be taking up about 30 minutes of your time with this free talk section. I won’t actually talk that long. So what should I talk about? Um let’s see…my impressions while playing him? Um it was just Arcana Famiglia as usual, I think I talked about that already. My feelings about the Arcana Famiglia series, uh I think I talked about that too. You can listen to that if you clear the first one, so please do that. Uh, I’ll get yelled at if I end it here…but what should I say… This one is the special episode? Story? It sort of continues from the first one but not really. It’s kind of like a story within the first one but a different setting? Well it did feel like the romantic-ness has really gone up from the first one. Since it’s after they’d already gotten together and…are thinking of marriage maybe? It’s something in that direction. There were some scenes like that. That…kind of hard, huh? Well, being with someone does make some things easier, but this is a game, so you can’t really do that. But all of you who play are in the place of the heroine, in the context of the story. Anyway, this fandisk was made through the hard work of not only me, but a whole bunch of other people. Maybe you’ll realize some new things if you play it again? I’d be happy if you all enjoyed it. Anyway I hope we can meet again somewhere…er, it’ll be in Arcana Famiglia I guess. Oh right! We have drama cds! I’ll look forward to seeing you all again with those. This was Yuichi Nakamura, bye!
Dante
Introduction (Introduce yourself): My name is Dante. And my trademark is just as you can see!
Affiliation (What role do you have in the organization?): Leading the executives and Intelligence Division is my job as the Chief Executive
Talents (What are you good at?): I have the best sense of humor on the island! I don’t know if that’s why, but a lot of people look up to me
Arcana (Use your Arcana Powers): You will obey me. Atlantico Vortici!!
Ultimate Technique: Let all be swallowed by the storm, and return to nothing… Dare un Ordine!
Comment (A few words to the heroine): I become very aware of my age when I’m with you, but the happiness I feel is much greater
ED Bonus 1 (Birthday celebration): Thank you, Ojou-san, for celebrating my birthday again this year. The party Intelligence throws me has gotten even bigger than last year too. Ojou-san, will you celebrate with me next year too? Ahaha, that smile makes me excited
2 (Good night): Good work today, Ojou-san. Everyone at Intelligence was very impressed with you as well. It’s a waste for you to be the Executive of the Swords. They all wish you could be the madonna of Intelligence, and I’m starting to feel the same. Then I could spend more time with you
3 (Good morning): Ojou-san, it’s rare for you to come to the harbor this early. How about some breakfast at the ristorante over there? I’m asking you on a date. Ahaha, I’m feeling nervous now. Let’s go then, Ojou-san
Special 1 (Your nicknames): I don’t mind being called an old man, but I’d rather not be called an old baldy. It’s gotten better now that Ash understands, but it’s embarrassing to be called “Strawberry Head’s Amore” while in town… not that I don’t like it
2 (Favorite women’s hairstyle): Women’s hairstyles? Well…whatever suits her is fine by me. I was always picky about my hair before, but how I am now isn’t bad, right? Your twintails really do suit you, Ojou-san. I’m happy how that’s never changed about you
3 (Favorite word): I often tell Liberta, but mine is “perseverance”. You can’t accomplish everything right away. The hard work and practice you do every day is important. Well, Vascello Fantasma also taught us that we also shouldn’t endure too much
4 (First impression of the heroine): When we first met, I thought you were a very lovely young lady. I always thought you would grow into a beauty that resembled Sumire. Well, my prediction was correct, wasn’t it? Hahaha. There’s no need to be modest. Anyone would call you a Regalo beauty
5 (Looking back on the incident): The ghost ship incident has finally settled down. I’m just glad we made it back to Regalo safely. To me, this incident was just full of surprises and discoveries. Ojou-san, I’m sorry for making you wait. I will be sure to convey my feelings to you as a man from now on
Free talk (Dante’s CV, Jurota Kosugi): I’m Jurota Kosugi, and I played Dante. This is the special episode following the main Arcana Famiglia game that came out fall of 2011. How was it, everyone? So thinking back on the recording, it was a little more serious than the main game. And I feel like this special episode had more romantic parts too. Plus of course, Dante’s sillyness in this game is just as usual. Anyway there were plenty of exciting parts as well, so I’m confident that this special episode was something you all enjoyed. I’d be really happy if you all had fun with the main game and this special episode as well. That’s right, all of you who played this game are already a part of our Famglia. Let’s always stay together! Okay then, yay for Arcana Famiglia! Dante-ne!
Jolly
Introduction (Introduce yourself): They call me Jolly
Affiliation (What role do you have in the organization?): I’m the Family’s advisor, but I don’t get many consultations for some reason. Hmph
Talents (What are you good at?): My talents? If you’d like to know, then come to my laboratory
Arcana (Use your Arcana Powers): I’ll make you go mad. Luna Pienna Sonno!
Ultimate Technique: Sink, into the inky darkness. Tenebra mundus
Comment (A few words to the heroine): There are many rumors about me. You should just trust the version of me that you see
ED Bonus 1 (Birthday celebration): When your appearance doesn’t change, you don’t really feel like you’re getting older as time goes on. But I do treasure the once a year occasion where you celebrate my birthday. Today is my day. So, what will I receive from you, Ojou-sama?
2 (Good night): If you can’t sleep, you can come see me. I don’t mind making you some of the usual herb tea. We can also make conversation until you feel sleepy. What? It’s just because I feel like it
3 (Good morning): You’re here to see me this early in the morning? What a turn of events. I was just about to have a light breakfast. Would you like to join me? Come sit next to me. This is a seat just for you
Special 1 (Your nicknames): Nicknames? You mean like “that Marchen guy” and “senile alchemist”? Being called many names is a good thing. It means you’ve made an impression. I don’t even mind being called odd. *chuckle* I’m actually quite proud of it
2 (Favorite women’s hairstyle): I have no particular preferences about women’s hairstyles. Actually, I prefer when it is tied up. Hair hides one’s skeletal structure when it’s let down. *chuckle*
3 (Favorite word): The words I like are “alchemy” and “results”. Alchemy often results in failures, but you can’t let that be the end of it. You must continue your research until you get results. That’s what I do as I strive for perfection
4 (First impression of the heroine): My first impression of you? Well, what did I first think of you? Oh, there’s one thing I remember. You were looking up at me with wide eyes and red cheeks back then as well. Hmph, you look so dissatisfied even though I answered honestly. What a difficult Ojou-sama you are
5 (Looking back on the incident): It’s hard to believe, but you did save me during the incident. We actually both acted in order to protect each other. It was quite a lot of trouble, but things like this aren’t bad once in a while
Free talk (Jolly’s CV, Koji Yusa): *chuckle* Did you enjoy Arcana Famiglia: Vascello Fantasma no Majutsushi? … Hello! I’m Koji Yusa and I played Jolly. Did you have fun? This was a special episode, so it was uh how do you put it? I think there were a lot of scenes where you were alone together. What did you think? Hm? Did you think of something bad? How improper of you, Ojou-sama… Uh, anyway. I think the routes for the other characters are enjoyable in their own way too, but for Jolly there’s a lot of scenes where they’re alone together in the dark cabins of the ship which I think were really the highlight. And at the beginning there was a bit where Jolly used “ore” for himself and I really made sure that part stood out. Well, I’m looking forward to where Arcana Famiglia goes from now on. I hope I get to hear more of your thoughts since there’s going to be much more to come! This was Koji Yusa and I’m looking forward to playing Jolly some more!
Ash
Introduction (Introduce yourself): I’m Ash. The alchemist who inherited the power of Vir Ingeniosus
Affiliation (What role do you have in the organization?): I don’t remember joining Arcana Famiglia!
Talents (What are you good at?): Being alone. I’m a proud alchemist after all
Arcana (Use your Arcana Powers): Da Mero, Trasformarsi in…!
Ultimate Technique: I’ll unleash the power of the great Vir Ingeniosus. Miracolo di Nascita!
Comment (A few words to the heroine): You mean about how you’re hair’s like a strawberry? Apples are red too, but a strawberry is more accurate for you
ED Bonus 1 (Birthday celebration): It’s been a while since someone made a cake for me. Nobody was around who wanted to celebrate my birthday after my dad died. The cake you made was delicious. Thanks Strawberry Head
2 (Good night): You’re alone out here? You can talk to me if you can’t sleep. And tell me more about this mansion. Like about your overprotective dad and clingy attendant. There’s no reason, I just want to know more about you
3 (Good morning): An apple pie? For me? Alright, let’s eat it together. And do you want to go somewhere afterwards? It’s an equivalent exchange for the pie. Got anything you want?
Special 1 (Your nicknames): I like thinking of names for people, but I don’t like being called them. Like “Tarocco thief”, or “imposter guy”. I don’t like those. So, what do you want to call me? I don’t mind if it’s coming from you
2 (Favorite women’s hairstyle): Your hair? I don’t know, I’m not an expert on women’s hairstyles. Just do it however you like. I do like your strawberry colored hair though
3 (Favorite word): My favorite word? Just “equivalent exchange”, I guess. If you want to ask me something, you have to give me something in exchange. I’ll answer you for free though
4 (First impression of the heroine): My impression of you? I thought you were stubborn, reckless, and never thought things through. Also that you were a good person. You trusted me even though I was your enemy and even saved me. It’s nice. I like your personality
5 (Looking back on the incident): If I never went to that mansion to take back the Tarocco, I’d never have met you. I’m with Arcana Famiglia now, right? It’s kind of odd. But, it also feels right that I met you
Free talk (Ash’s CV, Nobuhiko Okamoto): Hello, I’m Nobuhiko Okamoto and I played Ash. Well then, first I’d like to say thank you. Ash is a new character that was added in this game, and I’m sure all of you who’ve went through the routes of the other characters know this but, Ash has the role of the one takes the heroine away from home. And Ash also sees the relationships between the heroine and the other characters too. So what was the hardest thing about playing Ash? It was hard watching everyone else being lovey-dovey with each other. Yup. So thanks to you all, er I mean you, you! For playing Ash’s route. I’m glad you did. I think he has a lot of cute parts to him too, but I’m sure you all know that already. Anyway I hope to see you again soon! I love Ash! Thank you!
Mondo
1 (Use your Arcana Powers): The world has been completed. Spaziale Partecipe!*
2 (Ultimate Technique): Everything is within my hands. Giuradio Finalizzare!*
3 (Comment): I heard about what happened on the ghost ship, Vascello Fantasma. But you can’t get on such a dangerous ship, my beloved daughter! If you must then take me as well!
Free talk (Mondo’s CV, Fumihiko Tachiki): I’m Fumihiko Tachiki and I played Mondo. Good job! You’re done now, right? But this might be just the beginning. Of what? I don’t know either. Well I’m glad you enjoyed being in my arms, wait that’s not right. You’ve all had fun playing with a bunch of different characters, er I mean you, you have. So since I played Mondo, um how was it? How was the ghost ship? My role was pretty much just the judgment and trial parts this time, how was it? Maybe you didn’t notice me that much. That’s not true, right? I’m Mondo, you know. I look forward to seeing you as Mondo again sometime. Anyway, see you!
*Had an Italian speaker who also knows Japanese check and these two don't actually make sense. The first one may be something like "space participation". For the second, I guessed on "Final Oath" previously, but he says it may have been intended to be "Gladio Finale" or "Final Sword".
Sumire
1 (Use your Arcana Powers): Behold, you are within my cradle. Culla Protezione! (TN: Cradle protection)
2 (Ultimate Technique): Even a grain of sand can become a mighty boulder. Nehan Jyakujo! (TN: Enlightenment leads to serenity)
3 (Comment): I know of a ghost that sinks ships by filling them with water. I heard they do that to increase their numbers, but I wonder what the purpose of Vascello Fantasma is?
Free talk (Sumire’s CV, Kikuko Inoue): I’m Kikuko Inoue, 17 years old, and I played Sumire. Mhm, yup, yup! Anyway thank you all again for playing this game. How was the special episode? While we were recording, I just really enjoyed the world that this game is set in. It’s really complicated and interesting, I feel like the world keeps getting bigger the more we learn. Yeah, it’s great! I love Arcana Famiglia! I’m looking forward to seeing more! Thank you!
Joshua
1 (Use your Arcana Powers): Aaaaaahh!
2 (Ultimate Technique): Find your way to despair…Un Labirinto Atmosferico
3 (Comment): Bow down to the scales of justice…Chiedo alla Giustizia
Free talk (Joshua’s CV, Yuji Ueda): Um I’m Yuji Ueda and I played Joshua. When I received the script there was a whole lot, so I was really excited for it. Uhh, but I disappear at the end of the scenario, or rather I went to the afterlife, so I guess you won’t be seeing me anymore…Bye

Where you should be
Chapter 2: Tacenda
Genre: Hobi x oc
Warnings: this series contains stalking, blackmail, and similar stressful/fear inducing situations. Also unrequited love, which is perhaps the most terrifying of all.
Word Count: 3.4k
Tacenda (n.) things better left unsaid; matters to be passed over in silence
February 2019 - Continued.
“No.”
One syllable. A thousand pound weight pressing down on me.
Hoseok turns away before I can see if he believes me or not, his attention honing in on a black SUV that belongs to the company. A moment later, Do-yun is hopping out of the car with a deathly serious expression on his face.
I remain in the car when Hoseok gets out to speak with him, leaning up against the hood with his arms crossed. Their conversation is muffled, but I can still hear them clearly.
Do-yun is supposed to go back to the apartment to grab some necessities; and also do some snooping.
They’re speaking about the entire experience, Do-yun needs to know exactly what went down in order to understand if the people he’s supposed to protect have a new stalker. I never realized that his services could extend to me.
Leaning forward in my seat, I drop my head into my hands and close my eyes. It’s all too easy for my thoughts to drown out the sound of the conversation taking place just outside.
“Have you seen him before?” “No.”
Why couldn’t I just stick with a generic, ‘I don’t know’? Because the reality of the situation is simple: I really don’t. I have no idea who he is. Have I seen him before? Honestly, I might have. I might not have.
He’s only ever worn his hood and a mask before.
There’s no denying his aura, though. The man emits a certain dangerous air about him that has the majority of my apartment complex sticking together in groups of two or more. I just never thought that he would be after me.
Then again, maybe he’d heard about a certain idol dropping off a girl several times a week, and thought he should check it out. After all, Hoseok and the rest of the boys are no strangers to stalkers.
Judging from the stern look on Do-yun’s face as Hoseok’s back turns rigid, he takes these kinds of situations very seriously.
What kind of trouble have I landed us in?
The sound of a door opening has me lurching back upright, Hobi’s arm outstretched as he tries to calm me down like a startled animal.
“Hey, sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you,” he says. “Wanna hop out?” I do as he says, clenching my jaw as the chill of early spring hits me.
Do-yun steps forward, giving me a warm smile that is at odds with his muscular figure. “Hey, Sunny. How’re you feeling? You had quite the scare, it sounds like.”
I nod, staring down at his shoes. Hoseok’s arms encircle me, and he begins rubbing some warmth back into my shoulders.
“She was smart, though,” Hobi comments. “Locked the doors. She noticed way before I did.”
“Good.” Do-yun shuffles on his feet. “I’ll head over to your apartment complex now, would you like me to grab anything for you? Toothbrush? Clothes?”
I furrow my brows, looking back up at him, and then to Hobi. “Am I not going back tonight?” I thought that Do-yun was here to escort me back to my apartment.
Hobi’s hands pause in their ministrations. “Rin-ah, there’s no way you’re going anywhere near that guy. Just…” he pauses, then begins warming me up again. “Stay here tonight. I’ve got plenty of space. I’ll give you a ride to work in the morning, too.”
My frown doesn’t leave my face as I hand over my key to Do-yun, explaining what I need and where everything is. He promises to be back soon with my things, instructing me to jog my memory for any memories of the mystery man.
Once again I lie and say I will.
Once back inside Hobi’s apartment, I stand in the doorway like a ghost. It’s empty in here, now. Everyone else has gone home. And despite having been a frequent guest over the past month, I can’t help but realize just how different this is.
Hobi notices my obvious hesitation, and steps back over to the doorway. Crouching down, he unties my shoes for me.
“I’m sorry about tonight,” he starts, gently tapping on my ankle to signal for me to take the shoe off. “That was...horrible.”
I stare down at where he begins to untie the next shoe, watching his deft fingers at work. There’s a part of me that’s mesmerized by him and his kindness, the way he seems to fill me up with only a look. Yet, there’s another part of me that knows that all of this is wrong. Wrong, and I’m not doing a single thing to stop it.
“It was.”
My voice sounds like I haven’t used it in years, and Hobi glances up at me with concern in his eyes. He rises to his feet, and I kick off my other shoe before putting it on the rack. When I turn back around, Hobi stands just before me.
So close.
“I’m sorry.” He whispers.
Despite the circumstances, I still manage a wry smile. “How many times are you going to apologize for something that wasn’t your fault?”
What I’d hoped would make him relax only has him frowning. “What if it is my fault?” I open my mouth to protest, but Hobi stops me. “I’m willing to bet that somebody recognized me dropping you off and tipped some reporter off. I should’ve been more discreet, I shouldn’t have been so careless with you. You’ve already had agencies trying to track you down, I’m not helping by-”
My hand moves of its own accord, coming to rest over Hobi’s mouth as I effectively shut him up. Watching as his eyes widen a bit, I sigh.
“It’s nobody’s fault, so quit blaming yourself right now.”
Stepping around him and walking toward the living room, I glance back at him over my shoulder. He stands there frozen, running his hands through his hair as though contemplating tearing it out.
♟
We’ve made it through two episodes of The Office by the time Do-yun returns. His visit is quick, he drops off my few belongings and doesn’t say much on what else he found out. He simply states that he couldn’t find a man that fit the description Hobi gave him, but he did speak with the landlord briefly.
Apparently more will be analyzed in a meeting tomorrow with Bang PD. The thought of tonight being discussed with Bang PD nearly makes me sick, and I excuse myself to use the bathroom.
The process of hiring me was a long and complicated one. Honestly, I’m still in shock that it even happened. Due to the extensive hiring process, there were a few things that Bang PD made absolute sure to emphasize when creating my contract.
1. My 7 year contract with Bighit entertainment would immediately be under fire if I began entertaining job offers from competing agencies even a day before my contract officially ended.
This, of course, made perfect sense. Most contracts have something to the same effect; which is why when I was still under Source entertainment I had to be very careful when traveling to Bighit during my trial period. It would have been a complete mess if they’d found out about me, and Bighit would have most likely not hired me just to save themselves from controversy.
Over the past few months of employment at Bighit, I have received my fair share of ‘trackers’ from other agencies that are wondering where Ha-rin from Source entertainment disappeared to. So far, I’ve managed to avoid them, thus saving myself and Bang PD from criticism. Most people have no idea that Jung Ha-rin and Sunny are the same person. I’d like to keep it that way.
2. It is not allowed, under any circumstances, for me to become involved in any sort of relationship that goes beyond the label ‘friendly’ with idols under the Bighit label.
What does this mean for me when Do-yun enters the meeting tomorrow with Bang PD with the story of J-hope and Sunny out late and running into a potential stalker? What does it mean for me when he finds out that I stayed at his top idol’s apartment?
It’s grounds for termination. And right now, exiting the bathroom and heading back downstairs in my pajamas, following the sounds of the TV, I know that I can’t afford to be fired. Not now, just when the world is starting to open up for me.
Not now, when I finally found someone I can trust.
“Sorry, I started the next episode without you,” Hobi says from where he’s sprawled out on the couch. “Do you want me to start it over?”
I shake my head, pulling my phone out. “No, that’s fine. I think I should head to bed, anyways.”
Jumping up from the couch, Hoseok strides over to me. “Good idea. You’ve had quite the day today. Good thing the mattress for the guest room got here last week, isn’t it?” He chuckles to himself as I remember the day I came over for dinner and found a project waiting for me instead. Together with Taehyung and Jimin we put together the bed, but not without a large amount of yelling and collapsing dramatically to the ground.
I snicker at the memory, watching as Hobi goes before me to open the door and flick the light on. The light blue tones of the room welcome me and I nearly start sobbing at how soft the bed looks. I really do need to sleep.
Arranging my clothes for the next day, Hobi hesitates in the doorway. I speak up for him.
“Thanks for letting me stay the night, Hobi. I really appreciate it.”
He perks up at the sound of my voice, the sight making me both melt and wince at the same time. “Of course. Anytime. You know that, don’t you?”
I frown, turning to look at him. He stands there looking a little uncertain, his hand clutching the door handle for dear life.
“Know what?”
He shrugs, looking anywhere but at me. “That I’m here for whatever you need.”
I think I’m starting to understand it. “I...thank you. Really.”
He mumbles out a goodnight before gently closing the door behind him, the sound of his feet padding down the hallway making me smile before I even realize why.
My smile is wiped off my face quick enough when I remember what I need to do. There’s no need to get Hobi in this mess; heaven knows he’s got enough on his plate already. Pulling my phone out, I type in the contact info until Bang PD’s contact pops up.
The message takes a long time to write out, but I want to make sure I’m very clear in it. I explain the situation, how Hobi and I are good friends and that this is all just some big misunderstanding. I beg him not to take it the wrong way; that first and foremost we are professionals.
For the second time that night, I lie. Typing out the words, ‘I have no feelings for him’ seems nearly impossible, but I manage to do it.
Just when I start to feel sorry for myself, I remind myself that this is what I signed up for. This is what I wanted, isn’t it? Have a shot at Bighit, produce some music and make some friends along the way?
That’s what we are, I chant in my mind over and over again as my fingers fly over my phone. Just friends.
It doesn’t take long for Bang PD to reply. I can’t really blame him if this is the fastest he’s ever responded to my texts; we are talking about one of his greatest assets after all. He certainly wouldn’t want J-hope, the sunshine of the world, to be caught sneaking around in the dark with the producer Bighit bought out an entire company for.
I can already see the tabloids with their blaring headlines, claiming that Source entertainment was bought out just so J-hope could get with some girl. Not only would it tarnish both our image, it would make GFRIEND a laughing stock. How would it feel to be the group that was tossed around agencies just so your producer could get a shot at love?
It’s not true. Not of it is true. Yet I can already picture how it would be, shouting that at reporters over and over again as they laugh and ask why not? Why else would I be hired?
Why else would some 20-something producer from the middle of nowhere be hired on at one of the most successful agencies in k-pop history?
I’m staring at my phone, at the six-word answer Bang Sihyuk typed out. With the vision of my life being ruined as well as many others, I see the wisdom in his words.
That doesn’t mean it doesn’t still sting.
1:42 am Bang PD - Bighit: End it before it can begin.
♟
I’ve been discovering patterns on the ceiling for nearly twenty minutes when a quiet knock on my door pulls my attention away.
Laying here on Hobi’s guest bed, I keep finding the same message over and over again traced on the ceiling.
End it before it can begin.
What is that even supposed to mean? Was I not clear enough in my message? Did he know I was lying when I said I felt nothing for Hobi?
Maybe he wants me to draft a statement for the press, have one ready to go in case all of this goes south. Maybe he’s expecting my resignation in the morning.
However, when I hear Hoseok knocking on my door, I know exactly what Bang PD meant by his message. And I hate him for it.
A couple of seconds pass before Hobi slowly opens my door just enough to peek in. When he sees that I’m awake, he gives me a sheepish smile before stepping inside.
He must have just finished getting ready for bed; he smells amazing. His skin is glowing with that fresh just-washed glow, and he’s wearing a robe over his t-shirt and shorts.
It’s a look that anybody else would look subpar in. And yet, I can’t help the way my eyes widen a little just to be able to see more of him.
“I saw that your light was still on and decided to come check on you. Why are you still up?”
His reasoning has me smiling softly at him before I remember why I was still up in the first place. Eyeing my phone that sits on the nightstand, I pray that Bang PD doesn't decide to call me right now.
“Couldn’t sleep,” I don’t mean for it to come out as a whisper, but it does anyway. Hobi nods, edging in closer.
When he finally stands before my bed, I move over just enough for him to take a seat. He smiles at our unspoken communication, and my heart withers as I remember what I’ve just been told to do.
But what if there’s nothing to even stop?
It’s that kind of thinking that finds me with my head resting in Hobi’s lap, eyes closing as he feathers through my hair. He asked what usually helped me to relax, and I didn’t even hesitate that people playing with my hair was the way to do it.
I’m barely clinging to consciousness at this point, a layer of goosebumps rising when Hobi’s fingers scratch over a particularly sensitive part of my scalp.
“You drove so fast tonight,” I mumble out, not even bothering to open my eyes. Hobi’s quiet laugh trickles down to me.
“I did, didn’t I?”
“I even told you to slow down, but you completely ignored me.” My voice is heavy with sleep, but Hobi doesn’t seem to mind. It’s a wonder that he’s still so coherent.
“You did?” He lets out a breathy laugh. “I didn’t even notice. My mind was elsewhere, I think.”
I peek one eye open, watching as he smiles down at me, his finger coming down to trace a line from the crown of my head to the tip of my nose.
“Where was your mind?” I ask, completely aware that I might not be making the most sense.
Hobi shrugs. “I just knew I had to get you out of there. Do you know that was the first time I ever felt comfortable driving?”
I hum in response, my eyes falling shut again. Hobi resumes his pattern, occasionally trailing his fingers along my cheekbones or tracing my eyebrows.
If I were more awake, I’d be redder than a tomato. Thankfully this is happening way past my bedtime. Although a part of me knows that I’ll be freaking out in the morning.
“Rin-ah,” Hobi whispers. “Can I talk to you about something?”
I’ve had enough heart-stopping moments for one night, this just about kills me. Groaning as I sit up, I try to focus on Hoseok.
“Can’t this wait until morning, Hobi?” I hide my yawn behind my hands. “I’m so tired now. I nearly just fell asleep.”
Hobi shakes his head earnestly. “No, it can’t. I don’t think I’ll be able to say it in the morning.”
Suddenly I’m wide awake.
Looking at him warily, I chew on my options of what to say. “Are...are you sure? I think we’re both really tired and out of our minds after tonight-”
“I’ve been out of my mind for a while now, RIn-ah.”
My mouth snaps shut as Hobi turns to face me fully, our knees grazing. “Are you calling yourself insane?”
Hobi laughs, the sound reminding me of crystal. “No. Well, maybe yes?” He sighs, running his hands over his face before looking back at me. “I think I’ve been out of my mind since I met you. You...you’re everything. I’ve never felt this way about anyone before. Never. And I’ve been freaking myself out for the past six months since I finally got up the nerve to talk to you, always playing this game of does she or doesn’t she, trying to figure out if you feel the same way.”
“Hobi…”
“But I’ve just now realized something monumental.” Hobi’s eyes grow wide as he smiles at me, not a hint of fear in his expression. “It doesn’t matter if you feel the same as me. Even if you feel only a fraction of what I feel for you, that’d be enough. I think I love you enough for the both of us.”
His words drop like anvils on my head, each one pummeling me down deeper and deeper until I’m looking up from the grave I’ve dug for myself. I already know what my tombstone will read.
End it before it can begin.
As I stare into his eyes, I watch as the joy slowly turns to doubt and insecurity as the silence carries on.
If this were a different story, I’d be kissing those lips instead of watching them turn into a frown.
“Say something,” Hobi breathes out. “Please just say something.”
What happens if I can’t?
My mouth remains sealed shut, caging in the words that are dying to be spoken. I’ve been out of my mind for months, too. He’s moving away from me now, turning to plant his feet back on the ground. You have no idea just how far I’ve fallen for you. His head is down as he braces his hands on the side of the bed.
Those fingers that were so delicately tracing my brow just moments before are now white as they cling to the mattress as though trying to wake himself up from this nightmare.
“...you don’t.” His voice is strained, his face a reflection pool of all his emotions as he turns to look at me. There’s a single flicker of hope still lingering in those eyes, a softness that I’ve found is reserved just for me.
I take one last look at that beautiful gaze, knowing that it will be the last time Jung Hoseok looks at me this way. I want to remember it.
My head feels like it’s swimming through concrete as I shake it once, telling him what I have to.
No.
A single syllable, represented by a single shake of the head. A thousand pound weight pressing down on me.
The snick of the door shutting is quiet as Hoseok lets himself out.

Starving Affection
Summary: It had been five years since (Y/N) had any physical contact with another person. When she starts talking with a man online who reads her fanfics, a battle of her mind and body begins. When the time comes to meet him, she finds that there are still decent human beings in the world. Characters: Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins, Sami (OFC), Plus Size!Reader Pairing: Jensen x Plus Size!Reader Warnings: Angst/Fluff/Smut/Body Image Distortion Word Count: 9256 A/N: Again, me working through my feels. Thank you for allowing me to do so.
My chest tightened. Jaw clenched until my teeth hurt. My body rigid and frozen as panic flowed through my veins. The overly friendly, new teacher had her arms outstretched towards me. If I had been a normal person, I would gladly hold my arms out as well embracing her kindness and affection.
I was not normal.
“Hey Katy!” My partner teacher and best friend, Sami, headed her off by stepping in front of me and taking the hit of affection.
There was a special place in Heaven for Sami and if not, I would fight God themselves to make it so. I could see Sami whispering to Katy and a nod of acknowledgement told me I would not have to worry about her advancements again.
“Sorry (Y/N), I didn’t know you weren’t a hugger. How about a high five?” Her sweet gesture had my trembling hand stretching out to her as she quickly slapped it with her own.
Only Sami could see my flinch from the physical touch of someone. Everyone else summed it up to my quirky personality and weird aversion to being touched. Thankfully our English department meeting was over and I could escape to the safe haven of my car. Sami was close behind me waving goodbye to everyone.
I bumped my shoulder to hers as she was the only one I had no problem with minor touching, “Thank you for taking that hug for me.”
She laughed, “You’re lucky I’m a friendly and huggy person. Hey, I meant to ask you before school today, but how is counseling going?”
I cringed, averting my gaze from her, “It’s… going fine.”
She stopped me with a tap on my shoulder, “The truth, please.”
I sighed as my shoulders slumped in defeat, “I stopped going,” I saw the incoming assault in her narrowing sky colored eyes.
“(Y/N)! You were making such good progress with this counselor. I was even able to give you a one arm hug.” The disappointment in her voice weighed my shoulders down even more.
I leaned against my car pulling on the sleeves of my hoodie, “I know, I know. She had me go to one of her support groups and everyone had to hug someone. I… I just couldn’t. I tried three or four times going to the group and I failed every time.”
My eyes fell to the ground, disgust filling my mind, “Yes, you really are as pathetic as you’re sounding.” My inner voice snarked.
I heard Sami sigh, “It’s okay. We can work through it together. We can keep doing everything you liked from her and work at your pace.”
Looking up, I forced my lips into a small smile to appease my only real life friend, “That sounds good. Thanks Sami for putting up with me.”
I made my way home to a small ranch style home that was off the beaten path. My grandparents had left it to me knowing I would love the seclusion of it. It was my Fortress of Solitude. The only living thing, other than Sami, to be able to snuggle with me was Charlie the cat. The copper Main Coon was sitting by the door awaiting my arrival.
My evenings were always the same. Check in with my mom for an hour on the phone. Make or order dinner, which tonight was ordering pizza for the leftovers tomorrow. Turning on my favorite TV show, Supernatural, on Netflix and working on one of my millions of fanfics.
“Yes, stay in complete denial by hiding in your fantasy worlds and falling in love with fictional characters. Loser.”
I pushed my inner thoughts to the very back of my mind and focused on my current series I was writing. Pulling up Tumblr, I looked in my notifications seeing someone binge reading my masterlist. My heart always swelled with joy whenever someone took the time to read my writings. This person was also leaving feedback as well.
“ChevyMan67: I love this version of Dean! You truly have captured his personality and sarcasm.”
“ChevyMan67: I can’t get enough of this series! Please tell me there is more to come. I need to know if Dean finally falls in love and gets his apple pie life.”
I read through every comment and looked at every GIF the reader posted. I hit follow on his blog then took a few screenshots from my activity page, pulling up a blank post adding the pictures.
“Thank you to @ChevyMan67 for binging my stories! Your feedback means everything to me!”
As soon as I posted it there was a notification of a reblog from him. He posted a GIF of Dean screaming with #Fangirling flashing underneath. My cheeks ached from the unusual tension of a genuine smile spreading across my face.
Online I could be anyone I wanted. I would virtual hug and blow kisses at my friends. I was able to be more like the woman I was. Social, happy, carefree, open to others. I could be the woman I desperately wanted to be but my mind would not allow.
“Stay guarded. Remember what happened when you trusted him? Trusted his family? Never again. You promised never again.”
My indeed guard held the line at the gate of my mind. She stood in full armor and shield ready to throw off anyone that even attempted to break through to the part of me that desired to be a whole person again. I shook my head with a firm nod and reaffirmed my promise to myself to never let anyone that close to me again.
As I was closing down her computer for the evening, a ding caught my attention as a message came from Tumblr. Opening the window, I saw a DM from my newest follower.
“Hey there, I just wanted to say thank you for following me. Apparently I’m a rarity on here for being male and a fan of Supernatural. I truly love all your writings and can’t wait to read more. Hopefully, we can get to know each other better and become friends. Anyway, I’ll leave you alone. Message me any time. Goodnight.”
I re-read the message several times before closing my computer. Sure I had people message me for small talk and a few close friends I had on there. This felt different. Something deep within me sparked and I did not know how to react. There was only one person I knew I could go to and her reaction was more frightening than the thought of responding to ChevyMan67. That night was the first of many restless nights for me.
A week later, I finally sat down and responded to him.
“Hey, I’m sorry it took me so long to respond. I’m… well, I’m not used to talking to guys here. I think it’s great that you’re on here and reading, BTW. I’m working on a few pieces right now, maybe you could beta for me if you have time. I hope we can be friends as well. Have a good weekend!”
I was nearly hyperventilating when I hit enter sending the message. I tried to work on my newest one shot story and ignore my anxious heart awaiting for the ding. It was not until I was in bed watching my favorite episode of Supernatural that my phone chimed.
“Tumblr: Message from ChevyMan67”
My finger hovered for a moment before opening the app. The message opened and I let out a air I had been holding in my chest.
“No worries. Everyone is busy and has their “real life” to attend too. I work odd hours and days all the time so I get it. I would LOVE to beta for you!!!! Reading your work before it’s posted online? HELL YEAH! I feel honored you asked and I’m fanboying hard right now. Crap… that sounded… I mean. Sorry lol. You can send your fics to [email protected]. Looking forward to hearing from you again.”
Over the next six months, Ross and I talked throughout our days getting to know one another. Three month into Tumblr messenger and dumb updates, he gave me his cell number to text one another. At times, I would have to catch myself from laughing while my students took a test. Everyone around me started to notice the small changes in me. Smiling more, talking more and one student commented on me wearing bright colors.
“You look good in yellow Miss (Y/L/N).”
However it was Sami who demanded to know all about the changes going on with me. We sat at our favorite restaurant, the first round of drinks being set in front of us. After the waiter took our order, Sami began her interrogation.
“Tell. Me. Everything. You’ve been keeping me at bay and I’ve respected your space, but you have seemingly blossomed in the last few months. Spill.”
I bit my lower lip as my phone sounded with an all to familiar chime. I went to grab my phone when Sami placed her hand over it, “Me first. Tumblr second.”
“It’s not Tumblr. Let me reply to him and then I will tell you everything.” I dared to look up to see my best friend’s face frozen in shock.
Her eyes wide and mouth gaping, “Him?!”
I nodded reading Ross’s message, “Hey I know you’re out with Sami and going to tell her about little ole me. I just wanted to make sure you were still thinking about what I asked last night. Can’t wait to hear from you soon. Not now though, have fun with Sami.”
I smiled, locking my phone and putting it in my purse looking back to my ridiculously happy friend, “His name is Ross.”
There was a loud, attention grabbing squeal from her as I shushed her, “Leave out no details…” she rested her perfect chin on her folded hands.
I told her all about Ross and how we began talking. I told her everything I knew about him and what he knew about me. Finally, as our food came out and drinks were refilled, I told her about what he had dropped on me the previous night.
“He asked me to meet him at the Supernatural Convention in Dallas next month. He already has the passes paid for and a few photo ops that we could share.” My heart raced at the thought of meeting Ross and meeting my favorite celebrities all at the same time.
Sami’s smile faded slightly, “Does he know about your struggles with being touched?”
I nodded, “It was one of the first personal things I told him. He’s still talking to me so I took that as a frightening good sign.”
“What are you feeling?” her point blank question shook me for a moment.
My fingers drummed against the table, “I’m nervous, scared, anxious…” I paused for a moment before looking up at her with a smile.
“I’m also excited, hopeful and curious.”
Sami held out her hands to me, palms up and I hesitantly placed my hands in hers. It was something we had been working on for the last couple of months. This was the first time I allowed her to squeeze my hands.
“You really like him.” She whispered smiling like a fool.
I felt my own smile mirroring hers, “Yes I do and that scares me shitless.”
The rest of the evening felt like the old days before my life fell apart. When I got home, I decided to test my luck. Pulling up Ross’s number, my thumb hovered over it until I smashed it hearing it ringing.
“Well hello, this is a surprise.” His velvety smooth voice sent shivers down my body, “Take a deep breath and know it’s okay if you hang up to just text me.”
“N-No, I’ll be okay.” I stammered as he let out a low chuckle.
I could hear him moving away from other voices around him, “I interrupted something…” Guilt and shame weighing my shoulders down.
“Not at all. They can wait, you calling me is an important moment. Not everyday, I get to speak to my favorite writer on the phone.” His compliments calmed my queasy stomach, “Could I be so hopeful that this phone call is working up to a good answer?”
I took a deep breath in and let out slowly, “Yes.” The word seems foregin to her as it left my lips.
“Yes I can be hopeful or yes to my question?” His jovial banter eased the tension in my shoulders.
“Yes.” I tried to sound a little more confident, my heart beating against my chest.
There was a moment of silence before loud cheering and yelling came through her speaker. His excitement was silenced by my own unfamiliar laughter. Suddenly I was hyper aware that he was no longer making any noises. Panic and fear swelling inside me.
A soft sigh came from him, “You have a beautiful laugh. I can’t wait to hear it again.”
My cheeks burned, “Thank you.”
Ross told me he would send all the details for our trip and that I was not to worry about money of any kind. Mentally, I began planning out how to save as much money as I could in the next four weeks. Thankfully, my savings was built up enough to take a small hit and not dip into her emergency fund. Over the next several weeks, I began to prepare for my first convention, first time meeting an online friend, first time traveling by myself, first time facing the unknown in five years.
The morning of my travel day, I went over to Sami’s house with Charlie. I was surprised to see her sister sitting there. She waved to me before taking Charlie’s crate.
“What’s going on?” I looked around seeing Sami’s suitcase packed by the door.
She smiled, “Your friend Ross, reached out to me.”
The color from my face drained for a moment, “H-He did… How?”
“He found me on your Instagram page. DM me asking me to join you on your trip. Stating and I quote, ‘I know you being there with (Y/N) will make her more comfortable. I want this weekend to go as comfortably as possible for her. I know it’s a big step and I want her to be taken care of.’”
She smiled softly as my vision blurred from tears slipping down my face, “Oh… wow.”
“Yeah, he’s pretty amazing (Y/N/N). If you were ever going to work on overcoming your touch aversion this would be the man to do it for.” Sami turned around to help her sister, leaving me to my own thoughts.
“Absolutely not! There is no way he is getting through my defenses. I have held strong for five years. Your heart and mind are safe within my holds.”
“Do you really think he’s going to want to touch you? Look at yourself. Lumpy. Chunky. Squishy. Dull (Y/C/H) hair. Boring (Y/C/E) eyes. Not even a decent pair of boobs or ass. You’re nothing special. Always remember that you’re nothing special.”
“(Y/N)? (Y/N) stop it.” Sami’s voice rang clear bringing me back to the present.
I nodded slowly, “Sorry. I zoned out.”
“Freaked out. We will work through it. Sara is gonna drive us to the airport and we have an hour to chat. Okay?”
It was in the moment that I noticed my best friend had absentmindedly placed her hand on my shoulder and I did not flinch. My eyes looked to her hand and back to her, “You’re touching my shoulder.”
“Crap, I’m so sor…” she started to say but my bright smile stopped her, “What?”
I placed my hand on top of hers, “I didn’t flinch or move or even notice you did it.”
Now her smile was matching mine and we had a moment of pure excitement jumping around each other. True to her word, we spent the hour on the plane doing some meditative exercises. I thanked every high power who would listen for my best friend getting her psychology degree.
There was a man waiting with our names on a piece of paper. He took our bags and drove us to a hotel near where the convention was being held. Sami checked us in since there were so many people inside and my anxiety started to flare up.
Breathe in counting to six. Breathe out counting to six.
I repeated my breathing exercise until Sami returned her brow furrowed, “What is it?”
“I don’t know who Ross knows, but he must be connected in some way. We have a suite on the fourteenth floor.”
My jaw dropped slightly before I stood up bracing myself for the next hurdle of getting through the elevator ride. Luckily, there were only two other girls in the car and I could safely keep my distance from them.
“I heard that Jensen is staying at this hotel.” One mentioned as the other rolled her eyes.
“Yeah right. This is Dallas, I’m sure he’s probably staying with his family or something.”
The girls exit on the eighth floor and before the doors could close Sami and I were chuckling to ourselves. The chances of Jensen Ackles staying at this hotel would be astronomical. The car dinged for the top floor and opened to a small hallway. When we opened the door to our suite neither of us spoke.
Sami walked throughout the entire room before I could even move from the entryway, “This room is amazing! Check out the view we have (Y/N).”
“Hold on. Having a moment.” I breathed as Sami came to my side and I held my hand out, “I’m fine. Just need a moment to make sure this is real and not a dream.”
I watched as she walked over to the coffee table where there was a gift basket and she held up a small notecard, “Oh it’s real.”
“(Y/N) and Sami, I hope you love your room. Enjoy your night and order anything you want. The front desk knows it’s all on my tab. I’m hoping you both will join me for dinner tomorrow night after registration. Sadly, my job won’t let me leave before then. I look forward to meeting you both. -R PS: I highly recommend the spa and they have a large private jacuzzi just for you, (Y/N).”
Sami sighed, “I really hope he has a single brother, cousin, friend that is like him for me.”
I rolled my eyes walking over to the large windows looking out. Flashes of the last time I was in Dallas popping into my mind. I shivered as the one voice I hated yelled loudly in my ears. My hands covered them and I felt Sami tap my shoulder twice. For the first time, in several years, I reached out to her and gripped her arms.
“(Y/N) remember why we’re here. Remember talking with Ross on the phone. The tone of Ross’s voice. His laughter.” Her calm tone eased me out of the wretched memory.
She guided me over to the couch and went to get me a glass of water. I sipped it slowly before squeezing her hand, “Thank you.”
“You know, I can get used to you reaching out to me. Feels like the (Y/N) I knew coming back.” Sami squeezed my hand back before I let slip from her grasp.
She was right, the woman I once was before my ex was fighting her way to get out again. Still, my guard was up standing fortified at the gate.
That evening was a girls’ night of epic proportions. They went to the spa where (Y/N) sat in her private jacuzzi while Sami received the best massage of her life. Afterwards, we ordered our dinner from room service making moderate choices since neither of us were paying. When our food came there was a special dessert also with another note.
“A little birdy told me that your favorite dessert was French Silk pie. I wanted you to have a slice and some New York Style cheesecake for Sami. Have a wonderful night.”
Sami whistled, “Man, he has it bad for you.”
“Shut up.” I muttered lifting the dome to see a delicious slice of pie.
As they ate and talked, Sami took my phone taking pictures of them enjoying a very Sam and Dean style dinner. Sami having a Chef’s salad with honey mustard dressing. I took a picture of my dinner sending it to Ross with a text saying thank you.
“Dean would be proud! That bacon cheeseburger looks good. Enjoy!”
I smiled the entire time I ate my burger. Finishing out meals, Sami hooked up her laptop putting on Supernatural. I decided to try and work on some stories when a terrifying thought crossed my mind. I looked up to the screen as Dean began to talk. I closed my eyes listening carefully to his voice. The low tone and smoothness of it. It was the way he said the word writer that had my eyes snapping open and a gasp escaping my lips.
“What? What is it?” Sami sat up concerning filling her eyes.
Like pieces to a puzzle everything snapped into place. All the small details that would go unnoticed by someone who would never expect it. Sami tapped my shoulder and I turned to her with wide eyes.
“Ross… that’s Jensen’s middle name.” I mumbled reaching for my phone.
Sami stood up pausing the episode, “Okay… what are you getting at.”
“Listen.” I played for her the voicemail he had left a few days earlier, “Now play the episode.”
Sami’s eyes connected to her, “No way.”
“Ross is Jensen Ackles.”
That night my dreams were filled with my ex yelling at me. Fat shaming me. Calling me a loser. Calling me useless for not being able to bear children. His looming form made me coward into a ball on the floor. I woke up several times during the night, the final time close to six in the morning. Sami was peacefully sleeping on her side of the bed.
I picked up my phone going into the living area and dialing the all too familiar number. On the third ring she was going to hang up, but then his groggy voice pierced my ears.
“(Y/N), is everything alright?” All I could hear was Dean, which meant that it was truly Jensen on the other side.
“You tell me, Jensen.” I heard him sit up as I began to pace near the window.
A long sigh came from him, “I knew you would figure it out before meeting me.”
I scoffed, “Is this some kind of celebrity joke or prank? Pretend to be someone’s friend and embarrass them when they meet you.”
My guard was shaking her head muttering, “Told you so…”
“No, (Y/N) it’s nothing like that. Misha had read some of your stories and suggested I should read them. At first, I thought it would be weird because I’ve never read fanfiction before, but your writing… it drew me in.” His words came out all in one breath.
I froze, “M-Misha read my stories? Oh god…” My body burned from embarrassment.
Honestly, there’s not a person on our crew that hasn’t read at least one of your stories. You’re talented and the way you write for the boys is amazing. Our own writer’s are impressed with your talent.”
I groaned slumping down to the floor, “This was all a mistake.” The last thing I heard before ending the call was rustling around as if Jensen was moving from his bed.
My phone slipped from my hand as tears streamed down my face. I closed my eyes allowing my inner voices to consume me. Dragging me down into the darkness.
“You fool! Here I stood guarding you from this and still you allowed someone in. You deserve what is coming to you!”
“You useless piece of nothing! You’re the biggest joke this world ever created. Fat, ugly, even your body can’t do the one basic thing god made it to do. You’re worthless. Sucking up air that could be used on someone contributing to the world. No matter what anyone says you will always be the biggest failure in this world. You. Are. Nothing.”
I felt someone tapping on my shoulder and I tightened myself into a ball, “Go away Sami.”
The tapping continued and I reached out grasping an unfamiliar hand. My eyes snapped open and were met with concerning, piercing olive eyes. The eyes I stared at for hours on my TV. The eyes I wrote about in hundreds of thousands of words online.
As soon as my eyes opened he withdrew his hand and my heart sank further into darkness, “I told you. He will never want to touch your disgusting body.” The snide voice of my inner self whispered.
“(Y/N), please hear me out. Please for five minutes just listen to my side.” He sat across from me leaving a foot of distance between us.
I nodded looking up as Sami gently touched his shoulder, “I will be just outside if you need me.”
He waited for the door to close to start talking. His large hands rubbing against his cotton covered thighs.
“I started reading your masterlist on Tumblr and couldn’t get enough of your stories. I didn’t know exactly how to work Tumblr so Misha showed me how. I noticed you don’t get a lot of notes and I wanted everyone to notice you. I started sharing your work with everyone after sending you that message.”
He paused for a moment as I fidget with the hem of my shirt, “Why did you message me?”
His smile was more radiant in person, “It’s just as I said. I loved your work and I wanted to be friends. However, the more I got to know you… the more I wanted to meet you in person. I knew that would be problematic.”
“Yeah, you could say that.” I scoffed looking down to my hands.
He inhaled a deep breath, “You connect with Dean Winchester the same way I do. To find someone like that is a once in a lifetime chance. I want someone who I can gush over Dean with because soon I won’t be hanging out with him as much and he’s the best imaginary friend I’ve ever had.”
Seeing Jensen open himself up to me was creating a battle of mind and body within me. He was just as nervous as I was to open up to someone else. Suddenly, I did not feel so alone in my isolation. My hand trembled as I reached over placing it atop of his.
“Dean Winchester saved my life and I don’t mean that figuratively. I was on the verge of leaping into darkness when I found him getting Sammy to find their dad. I found the strength to carry on because I knew that was what Dean would do. I found that being broken wasn’t a bad thing but something that could drive you to keep working. Dean helped me to feel again when I had become numb to the world around me.”
His eyes shined as I spoke trying to hold back his own tears, “I’m glad he could be there for you when you needed him the most.”
“Then you came into my life when I least expected it.” I whispered as I squeezed his hand.
My mind was screaming at me to get as far away from him as I possibly could. To call out to Sami to make him leave and move out of the state disappearing from the world. However, my body was urging me to jump into his arms. To open myself up to him as he had done with me. I felt like a spring coil ready to snap. My mind was holding my body back waiting for my consciousness to make a decision.
And she did.
I launched myself into his arms startling him as we crashed to the floor. His arms instinctively wrapped around me as mine encircled his neck. The door flew open as Sami came rushing in as Jensen’s laughter filled the room. I hugged him tighter to me as he tightened his grip around me.
“Oh my god… (Y/N), you’re hugging him.”
I did not need to open my eyes to know tears were slipping down my best friend’s cheeks. Her voice was thick with utter joy and amazement.
“Does this hug mean that you don’t hate me?” His question caught me off guard.
Jensen’s hands kept me in place as he sat up swinging my legs across his. My arms are still around his neck not wanting to lose the connection. Now that my body was against his, it flooded with the strange feeling of desire. Sami joined them on the floor sitting cross legged in front of them.
“I don’t think I could ever hate you. Though I’m still upset you lied to me.” I rested my head on my arm and against the side of his neck.
Feeling him sigh and seeing Sami grinning, I knew this was a big moment for all of us. We sat on the floor for another hour talking before Jensen had to go back to his room to get ready for the day. Neither of us wanted to let go of the other. He hugged me one last time before walking out of the suite. When I turned around I was immediately engulfed into another hug.
“I’m so proud of you!” Sami squealed.
“Thanks, I think…” My sentence drifted and she pulled away from me.
I walked back toward the bed and flopped face first onto it. I felt her crawl up on the bed beside me knowing me well enough to give me space.
“Talk it out, (Y/N). What are you feeling?”
My cheeks burned from the first feeling to pop into my head, “I feel warm, anxious, happy...” I paused gathering the courage to say the last word, “desire.”
“I’m sorry, what was that last one?” Sami eagerly asked.
I sat up, “Desire.” Saying the very word felt weird.
She began to clap and raised her hands in the air, “Praise the lord!”
“Don’t get all weird about it. I don’t know what any of this means. My body is tingling…”
Sami interrupted, “I bet it does…”
“Shut up, mostly not in that way. I don’t know how to act around other people anymore. What is too much touching? What is too little? What does a hug mean? I have too many questions and all the answers just walked out the door.”
I looked over as my phone chimed seeing a message from Ross, “I guess I need to change that now.” I murmured as I pulled up his message.
“First, thank you for trusting me with a hug. It means the world to me. I wanted to know if you wanted to have an early lunch with me? We could eat in my room or restaurant or your room with Sami. Whatever you are most comfortable with. Let me know.”
I held my phone up for Sami to read and she jumped off the bed, “You can have our room. I will go entertain myself by the pool.”
I texted him back that he could come to my room as Sami began tossing clothes out on the bed, “What are you doing?”
“Finding you the perfect outfit. Now go shower so I can play dress up with you.” She clapped her hands excitedly as I groaned loudly.
Looking in the mirror again, I pulled at the shirt clingy to every soft, round surface of my waist. I pushed my stomach watching as it bounced back into place like jello. Turning to the side, I sucked as many rolls as I could inward, holding my breath. The air rushed from my lips as a knock came from the door. Making my way towards it, I grabbed my zip-up hoodie slipping my arms in it quickly.
“Hi.” The word came out more breathlessly than I wanted.
My inner voice whispering, “Yeah fatty, let him know that walking across the room makes you lose your breath.”
“Hey there, I hope you don’t mind that I went ahead and grabbed lunch for us.” Jensen held up a paper bag from a local sandwich spot.
As he walked in, I took a moment to truly admire him. He looked like a male model in his tight dark jeans, black boots, dark olive Henley and sunglasses resting on top of his unruly, sandy brown hair. His smooth voice caught my attention.
“You could take a picture and it would last longer.” He chuckled sitting down on the couch and laying out their lunch.
I sat on the opposite side of him as far away as I could. Even though my body desperately wanted to be closer to him, I kept my distance not pushing my mental capacity. He glanced over a hint of disappointment in his eyes seeing me so far away.
Jensen slid a sandwich towards me, “I remember you telling me that you love ham and swiss with tomato.”
“Thank you.” I unwrapped the sandwich and grabbed a bag of chips.
We ate in silence as a strange tension built between us. My stomach churning to the point I could no longer eat. I would look over to him out of the corner of my eye to find his eyes drifting over me. I wrapped my hoodie around me instinctively trying to hide the imperfections.
“There’s no hoodie big enough to hide your ugliness.” The familiar voice whispered.
I shook my head when I heard music playing, looking back to Jensen. He smiled sheepishly as he set his phone on the table.
“I thought maybe some background noise would help,” He stood up clearing the food from the table then stood in front of me with his hand out, “Trust me?”
His eyes were shining from the afternoon rays of sun coming from the window and his lips were spread in a gentle smile. I exhaled slowly allowing all the tension to leave my body and placed my hand in his. He pulled me up from the couch taking my hands and placing them behind his neck. His large hands slid down my sides to my hips and I flinched.
“You do know that you’re beautiful, right?” He whispered swaying my body with the music.
I shook my head, “I’m really not. Ordinary at best.”
Jensen lifted my chin, piercing (Y/C/E) meeting , “You are far from ordinary, (Y/N).”
“You’re just being kind.” I looked away as he slowly turned us in a circle.
The music continued but Jensen stopped moving, “I have so many questions but I don’t want to make you uncomfortable or have you running to the hills.”
“Questions for me? Surely, you have better things to do with your time other than sitting inside with me. Don’t you have fans to entertain?” I smirked.
He chuckled, “Lucky for you, I happen to have the day off. I normally spend the day with my family. However this year they all ditched me.”
I mockingly acted shocked, “Oh no! You poor thing.”
His eyes narrowed in on me before laughing, “My mom and dad are somewhere in Spain enjoying their anniversary gift. My sister decided a girls trip with her best friends was better than hanging with me for the day. My brother is always busy with his family. You’re stuck with me.”
“I guess there’s worse ways to spend my day. Okay, ask away but I’m not promising I’ll answer them all.”
Jensen led me back to the couch, but kept ahold of my hand as we sat back down. He laced his long fingers with mine. His thumb brushing over my knuckle. I settled back against the couch once again wrapping my hoodie around me.
“What were you thinking when I put my hands on your hips earlier?”
I bit my lower lip, “I was mortified that you were touching my squish rolls of skin. I was thinking you must be disgusted by it.”
“Wow…” He squeezed my hand, “Whoever he was he really did a number on you. If I ask his name and address would you be against me and Jared beating the crap out of him?”
A genuine burst of laughter echoed in the room, “He’s really not worth it. Plus, he is much happier with his life now and that’s all that matters. He deserves to be happy.”
I was surprised to see Jensen face scrunched up in anger, “But you don’t?” He leaned in slightly, his features softening.
“No, I don’t.” The words came out without even a second thought and seeing Jensen recoil from them as if they had slapped him in the face twisted my heart.
His tongue darted out over his lips and the electrical energy between us sparked wildly, “You’re wrong. You deserve all the happiness in the world. Any man who told you otherwise is no man at all.”
He was leaning in closer, his eyes never leaving mine. My heart pounding in my ears and my body urging me to meet him in the middle. His forehead pressed against mine and his nose caressed mine.
“I’m going to kiss you.” he whispered.
“I don’t think I remember how to kiss back.” The pathetic confession was followed by a wayward tear slipping down my cheek.
His soft, full lips pressed gently against mine. My mind searched for the file within the long abandoned cabinets for how to kiss someone. He pulled away for a split second only to return his lips to mine. I found my lips pushing against his out of basic instinct. Our lips melded together for a moment before I felt him smile against mine.
His hands cupping my face, “I think it will all come back to you easier than you may think.”
I took in a deep breath letting it out in a short burst, “I think you believe in me too much for only meeting me a few hours ago.”
Jensen was still holding my face as he leaned back, “Other than Jared and Mish, I have never felt closer to anyone, but you.”
“You have your work cut out for you then,” I pointed to my head, “because it’s a nightmarish mess up in here.”
He leaned in kissing me once again, “You are worth every second of being with you because you’re stunning, smart, talented, caring and most of all you’re beautiful inside and out.”
I stared up at him speechless as my inner guard laid down her shield, “I like this one.”
“No… no one has ever said that about me. I-I don’t know what to say or how to react.” I stammered, unable to comprehend what he said.
He smiled widely, “Get used to that feeling because I’m preparing for you to feel that way a lot. Now, I don’t want to test your boundaries too much so I think we should hang out here and watch a movie.”
Jensen moved to the end of the couch resting his arm along the back of it and propping his feet on the table. For the first time in forever, there were no inner voices to keep me from doing what I desperately wanted. I moved over next to him resting my back into his side and stretching my legs out to the other end of the couch. His arm draped over the front of my chest and his fingertips brushed against my side.
This time there was no flinching and I smiled at the small victory.
The rest of the weekend was like a dream. Seeing the convention backstage, meeting all the rest of the other actors on the show and most of all Jensen’s constant touch comforted me throughout it all. Sami beaming with pride as I pushed myself to be in the crowd for the concert on Saturday. When Sunday came, I found myself riddled with sadness knowing I would have to leave this magical weekend behind.
Sami had decided to go back to the hotel while I waited for Jensen to finish his autographs. I had noticed Clif, the boys’ friend and bodyguard, staying close by me. When the last fan left the autograph room, he motioned for me to follow him. Entering the room, I found Jensen with his head down on his table while Jared and Misha were fooling around at theirs.
Walking up, I slid my hands over his shoulders and began rubbing the knots out of them. A small groan escaping his lips sent a wave of desire over my body. I moved my hands down his back eagerly wanting to hear him again.
“Hey, if you’re giving free massages away I’ll take one!” Jared called out.
Jensen’s head snapped up, “Don’t even think about it Padalecki. Her hands are too precious for your sweaty self.”
I chuckled as he stood up letting my hands drift down his back. I knew he was fit but his body was firm and lean in all the right spots. As he moved away I found my fingers stretching out to touch him again. All weekend I had found myself craving his touch. My mind was obsessively thinking about his hand in mine or my arms around his waist or his hands gripping my hips. My cheeks felt like they were on fire and I heard him chuckle.
“You okay? You kind of spaced out for a moment.”
I nodded smiling, “I’m great. Just thinking was all.”
“Well come on, you and I can grab something to eat then hang out in my room.” His arm slipped around my shoulders and instantly I relaxed into his embrace.
Dinner was unexpectedly crashed by Jared and Misha tagging along. We found a twenty-four hours diner near the hotel that was nearly empty and we all spent a few hours talking, laughing. I could not help the sadness creeping over me as the minutes passed by. Minutes I was losing to have Jensen to myself. As if he read my mind he excused us to head back to the hotel.
We walked in silence, hand in hand. Stepping into the elevator, he pulled me into his side and I wrapped my arms around his waist. His room was on the opposite end of the same hall as mine. Stepping inside, the door clicking shut as we stood across from one another. It was like a shotgun going off as Jensen closed the distance between us. His hands sliding down my body as his mouth crashed to mine.
As suddenly as it happened, it was over.
“I’m sorry… shit. (Y/N) I’m really sorry.” His pleads confused me for a moment.
Breathing heavily as he stepped back further from me I blurted out, “W-Why are you apologizing? D-Did I do something wrong?”
His dark forest eyes snapped up, “You do something… you didn’t do anything but be you, (Y/N). I just couldn’t stop myself. This weekend has been the best one in my life. Being around you, holding your hand, kissing you has rejuvenated me. I just want more of you, all of you. Simple looks you give, the way you hold yourself and the moment you open yourself up to reach out to me. I just found myself unable to hold back anymore. I know…”
This time it was me who closed the distance between us. My lips crashing into his. My hands running up his broad chest and into his soft hair. The soft moan escaping my lips as we parted.
“I want you to have me…” I whispered in between breaths, “I’m nervous with a bunch of what ifs running in my head.”
“Do you trust me?” The corner of his lip curling upward.
“Yes.”
Jensen took my hand leading me into the bedroom of his suite. He gently picked me up and sat me on the bed. He knelt in front of me, slipping my shoes from my feet then pulling my socks off. His thumbs pressing into the bottom of my feet as I began to giggle.
“Oh… now that is an amazing sound. I must hear that again.” He smirked, tickling my feet.
I fell back in a fit of giggles as Jensen’s laughter joined mine. I leaned up on my elbows looking down at Jensen resting his chin on my knee. He lifted his brows asking permission and I nodded. His hands drifted over my calves, up to my knees and over my thighs.
“You have incredible legs. I found myself staring at them as you would walk in front of me with Sami. Wondering how they would feel beneath my hands.” He gently squeezed them near my hips.
His knee pressed into the mattress between my legs as his firm body hovered over mine. My fingers brushed against the hem of his shirt pushing it up and hesitantly touching his stomach. Jensen sucked in a quick breath as his hands paused on his hips. I focused on the feeling of his smooth, warm skin beneath my fingertips. His flat stomach is surprisingly soft.
I grasped the end of his shirt pulling it towards his head as he pulled back allowing it over his head. Taking it from my hands, he tossed it on the floor. I took in every inch of his skin from his muscles flexing to the freckles decorating it.
“You beautiful, you know that?” I did not think he heard me until I saw the smug smirk on his face.
He leaned down kissing me, “Stealing my lines, sweetheart.”
His hands went back to my hips as his lips left a trail of kisses down my neck, “You think that your softness is revolting, but I find it inviting.”
I froze as his hand pushed up into my shirt touching my stomach. I squirmed as he pushed my shirt up just under my bra. My hands threading through his hair as his lips pressed small kisses against my stomach.
“Jensen…” The tension in my tone caught his attention.
His eyes filled with worry, “Too much?”
I took a few deep breaths and shook my head, “I’m fine, promise.”
“See there you go, being brave and pushing yourself. You have no idea how sexy that is.” He murmured against my skin.
As Jensen’s mouth neared the waistband of my jeans, I tugged his hair motioning for him to come back up to her. He smiled randomly kissing spots along my body. His lips finally met mine as I slid my arms around him. His tongue swiped across my bottom lip as they parted for him. His gentleness and care to make me comfortable broke down the last existing wall of defense.
Their kiss deepened. My body burned with a need to feel Jensen’s skin against mine and to be close to him in every way physically possible. Foreign pressure began to simmer deep within me and I lifted my hips pressing them against his thigh.
He pulled away his eyes blown with passion searching mine for an answer to a silent question.
“Please… take away everything he did. I want to feel whole again.” I pleaded just above a whisper.
His lips were on mine again as he gently lifted me up further onto his bed. Sitting up, I pulled my shirt over my head holding it in front of me for a brief moment. His eyes watching my every move as I tossed it over the side. He reached behind me with one hand unclasping my bra in one swift movement.
I kissed his collarbone as he leaned in to do so, “Show off.”
He chuckled before leaning back and allowing me at my pace to unveiling my bare chest to him. I slid the straps down my arms holding it in place before playfully tossing it at him chuckling. Joking had always been my way of dealing with uncomfortable moments. When I looked up his eyes were drifting down my bare upper body.
“You’re beautiful, you know that?” He smirked as I rolled my eyes at him, “Seriously, (Y/N)... you’re absolutely stunning.”
He ran his hand down my chest, between my breasts and down to my jeans. He undid the button and slowly drew down the zipper. Hooking his fingers with a belt loops dragging my jeans down my legs. I shivered as the cool air hit my skin. Jensen tossed them off to the side then began to place gentle, open mouth kisses up my leg.
My breaths were coming out in small little puffs the further up my leg he got. His mouth hovered over her cotton cover mound inching closer to it. My teeth dug into my lip desperately wanting him to press them against me. Instead he kept his path up my body stopping at my breasts. He cupped the side of one running his thumb over my nipple.
A long sigh escaping my lips from just the slightest touch from him, “O-Oh… Jensen…” His mouth had gently suckled my other nipple, the pressure turning to an ache between my legs.
“You have no idea hearing my name from your lips does to me.” He softly said before circling my nipple with his tongue.
Feeling bold, I slid my hand down between us running it along the hard bulge being restrained by denim. Jensen sucked in a sharp breath dropping his head between my breasts, “Shit…”
“I believe I have some kind of an idea.” I smiled as he grinded himself against my palm.
He stood up at the edge of the bed, his intense stare making me tremble with anticipation. Leaning forward, his fingers hooked the sides of her cotton panties and pulled them down until they were on the floor.
“Exquisite, flawless, perfect.”
“As are you.” I sat up until I was sitting on the edge in front of him.
My hands trembled as I unbuttoned his jeans and carefully unzipped them. Jensen let out a soft hiss as I brushed against his length. His hands cupped my face pulling my lips to his urgently kissing me. I pushed his jeans and boxers down as far as I could before he pushed me back onto the mattress. His hand drifting down my body until his fingers pressed against my folds.
“Jensen, please…” I begged needing to feel any kind of relief from the pressure pulsating from between my legs, “Ohhh… god.”
Jensen began to rub lazy circles against my clit. My hips grinding against his hand as his lips pressed just below my ear, “Are you okay?”
His question sober me from the drunken stupor of desire and I placed my hand over his pushing down further, “More than okay.”
Jensen pushed one long finger deep inside me with a hiss, “Fuck pretty girl, your so tight.” He slowly pushed a second finger inside.
My head pressed against the mattress, my back arching as he pumped his thick fingers in me, “More, oh please Jensen, I need more.”
His pace picked up and I looked up to his face. His eyes wide and dark watching me come undone as his thumb rubbed harshly against my throbbing clit, “Jensen!” I cried out overwhelming pleasure wrecked through my body.
Breathing heavily, my body shaking slightly as he pulled his fingers from me, “Now that was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.”
A slow grin spread across my face as I pulled his mouth to mine. He positioned himself between my legs pulling away slightly, his lips grazing against mine.
“Are you sure? We can stop if you want.” Jensen’s tone was tense as I felt his length resting against my folds.
I kissed him, “I need you. All of you.”
He braced himself up with one arm as his hand slipped between us. Jensen ran the swollen head along my slickness before nudging it against my entrance. The room filled with groans and heavy breaths as Jensen slowly sheathed himself within me. There was a singe of pain as I stretched taking him his thick length but quickly was replaced with immense pleasure as he thrusted gently into me.
“So. Tight.” He panted against my cheek.
I wrapped my arms and legs around him digging my heels into him. Each stroke pushing me further to the edge. Feeling every muscle straining along his back and arms. His head buried in the crook of my neck grunting almost painfully. I knew then he was holding back.
I pressed my lips to his ear, “Jensen, I won’t break. You’re making me feel incredible, but I want you to let go. Show me how I make you feel.”
A low growl rumbled from his chest as he nipped at my neck and his hips snapped against me. The echoes of our skin meeting, loving praises and the headboard against the wall filled the room. I started to meet each thrust of his, the coil within me ready to snap. His hands were gripping my shoulders holding me against his burning body. I clung to him scraping my nails against his back making him growl again.
“Shit Jensen, I’m so close. Just a little more, oh god please!” I beg as he thrusted into me feverishly small grunts coming from him, “Yes, yes, oh… Jensen!”
My whole body was shaking as an intense wave of euphoria covered me. Pulsating around him, he abandoned all control chasing his own release.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck!” He gritted his teeth as his body went rigid before slamming into me his length twitching deep within me, “Holy shit…”
Jensen rode out his release, his arms shaking to the point he could not hold himself up anymore. I groaned as he pulled out leaving me empty. He rolled onto his back breathing heavily as I curled into his side burying my head into his chest.
“What’s wrong? Did I hurt you?” His concern only made me cling to him more.
I shook my head, “No, I’m just overwhelmed. Too many feelings at once.”
“Talk it out. Tell me what you’re feeling.” Jensen wrapped his arms around me holding me close.
I took a deep breath, “I’m feeling exhilaration, bliss, pleasure. Right now, I’m feeling empty and it’s almost like I can’t breath. I feel scared by how much I need to feel your touch.”
His fingers were drawing small circles against my bare back, “If that’s your way of asking for round two, you’re going to have to wait for a little bit. I haven’t come like that since I was a teenager.”
There was a brief moment of silence before I started to laugh. My body shaking from the laughter pouring from my lips. I kissed his chest, “Thank you.”
“You never need to thank me. It’s my honor to make you laugh. Bring your pleasure. Praise you for your beautifulness. More importantly, always holding you close to me.”
I entwined my legs with his as he pulled the sheet over our naked bodies. Just when I thought he was about to fall asleep, I slipped my hand over his soft member then pressed my lips just under his chin.
“Round two?”

Entangled (Spencer Reid x femReader)
Summary: You don’t know how it happened. One moment you were watching Criminal Minds, and the next moment you were literally in the show. Can Spencer be the key to helping you find your way back home?
Warnings: minor character death, mentions of su*cide, bad explanations of quantum mechanics, sexual situations, the usual criminal minds-type content
A/N: wow I’ve been on this site for ages, nearly as long as Criminal Minds was on air, lol, but this is my first fic posted here. I plan to make this one into a few parts if people like it. If this has any relation to other fics it’s not intended. Literally just an idea that popped in my brain. I’ll also eventually add it to my wattpad .@ kittentastic

Chapter 1. Chapter 2. Chapter 3. Chapter 4. Chapter 5. Chapter 6. Chapter 7. Chapter 8. Chapter 9. Chapter 10. Chapter 11.
It was an average, lonely, autumn night. Halloween was nearing and you didn't have anywhere to be. Long estranged from the people you once called family, and friends, you were starting a new life in L.A.
Yeah, you were one of those small-town girls with big-city dreams. You wanted to be an actress, a dream your father had once encouraged. When he suddenly died, you had nothing left but a new step-mother who discouraged your dreams and was more than happy to disown you when you reached 18 years of age; a classic Cinderella story.
It had taken a while, getting yourself through university and saving up enough money to move out to L.A. Now you were 27 and living your dreams...partly. You worked at a coffee shop in Hollywood; a great way to meet people that could potentially cast you in a big production, but that plan had yet to come to fruition. Every audition would have someone else in mind for the part.
Today, you had finished yet another round of auditions for everything from small commercial bits to tv shows. You poured yourself a glass of red wine after finishing your microwavable meal-for-one dinner. Wine would always be your go-to drink after your dissappointing days, it was great at helping you sleep. You clicked on the tv and sipped your drink from your criss-crossed sitting position and soon found a Criminal Minds marathon that was just starting. It almost seemed like fate as tomorrow you had an audition lined up for the very same show.
You smiled as the bright, happy, Penelope Garcia came into the shot, followed by the rest of the BAU. You absentmindedly bit your lip as Dr. Spencer Reid came into frame.
Like a large percentage of the show's viewership, you found the handsome genius slipping into one or two of your fantasies. You may have daydreamed about the Dr. being a real person and walking into your workplace to order coffee and whisk you off your feet. You may have also woken up from a few dreams involving the handcuffs he was currently restraining an unsub with.
You wondered if you would get the part. Would it be odd having to pretend this dream-man was real? You'd hope you could contain your blushing around Matthew at least.
You finished your drink and stretched out on the couch, already feeling your eyes growing heavy. You found your mind wandering as you grew more and more tired, hardly paying attention to the episode. The last thought you had before you drifted off was, "what if Spencer Reid was a real person?"
Bright lights of assorted colors and shapes danced behind your tired eyes. You felt a tugging sensation that seemed to pull you from your core. It felt warm and safe, like it wanted to protect you. A hum grew louder and louder in your ear canal, followed by a crackling wind. It was like an electric storm. The smell of coffee and a woodsy vanilla filled whatever place you were in. It was odd, you knew this, but you weren't scared. Something told you this was right. Your body began to rise higher and higher until a loud snap echoed around you, shattering your surroundings.
"Whoa, sleeping on the job now Y/N? Did someone tire you out last night?" A woman's voice broke through the fog as your mind caught up with you.
Wait, am I still dreaming? That voice...it sounds like...
"Pretty Boy, you wanna check her for a pulse?"
And that is definitely...
"I-I don't think that's necessary."
You slowly lifted your head and opened your eyes wide. Your blurred vision slowly grew used to the bright indoor lighting. Your eyes widened as you saw none other than JJ, Morgan, and Reid. Yes, the fictional characters were standing in front of you.
How was this even possible? You had to be dreaming, or maybe you were forgetting and you were at a very strange audition. Yes, that had to be it, logically.
"Good morning Sleeping Beauty. Rough night? I didn't think Reid's Doctor Who nights were that wild, I might have to tag along and chaperone you two next time." Morgan greeted with a teasing smirk.
"How late did you two go for last night?" JJ asked, leaning against the desk that you had been sleeping on, and sipping her coffee.
She directed the question to you, but you didn't remember this dialogue in the audition script. When you didn't answer, Spencer spoke up.
"She texted me when she got home safe at 9:43pm. I made sure she left early as the rain was starting up. Now, of course, she could have stayed up longer, but we continued to exchange texts until she texted me goodnight at 10:15pm."
"Goodnight texts? Remind me and JJ here why you two aren't dating again?" Morgan crossed his arms looking between you and Spencer.
You blinked, taking a chance to finally look around. There were no cameras in sight. Above you was a tiled ceiling with office lighting. No directors or normal-looking crew members were around.
"Matthew?" You asked, directing your question to a stuttering, red-faced Reid.
Everyone turned their attention back to you. Reid, or Matthew, raised his eyebrow at you. And turned to look if anyone was standing behind him that you could be talking to.
"Who is Matthew, Y/N?" He asks, cautiously.
Oh my god. I must be dreaming.
You stood up and slowly reached out to Reid, who was standing closest to you. You gently poked his cheek. He looked almost afraid at your actions.
"Spencer?" You lower your shaky hand. He felt real, he was standing in front of you. You could smell his morning coffee.
"Yeah?"
"Pinch me."
"What? Why?"
"So I know that I'm not dreaming." You could feel his eyes prodding you, profiling.
"Maybe we should get you to a doctor-"
You grabbed his wrist and placed his hand on your upper arm.
"Pinch me. Hard."
Spencer winced as he did what you asked of him. He obviously did not want to hurt you. You felt your nerves fire off in pulses of pain where he pinched. You sharply inhaled and he immediately dropped his hand.
"Oh my god," you stammered, "ohmygodohmygodohmygod."
This is real. Spencer Reid is real.
You slid back down in your chair and looked at an open mouthed JJ and Morgan, staring at you in shock.
"What kind of kinky shit are you two into?" Morgan narrowed his eyes at Reid.
"This is no time for teasing Derek. I think she's suffering from a concussion." JJ reached out, concerned, feeling your forehead for a fever.
"She doesn't have any visible signs of bruising. Y/N do you remember hitting your head on anything, or experiencing whiplash today?" Reid, growing serious turned your chair towards him, raking his fingers through your hair to check your scalp for any tender spots.
For a moment you had to stop yourself from sighing, it just felt nice, and it was Spencer.
"No I'm-I'm fine, my head feels fine." You answered.
"What's the last thing you remember doing?"
You bit your lip, should you answer him truthfully? How would you even explain something so illogical.
"I-I remember. I fell asleep on the couch watching tv." In a different reality.
"Do you think it's possible you rolled off of the couch in your sleep?"
You frowned to yourself.
"It's possible."
It's never happened before, but you suppose it would explain things. This was definitely a hallucination. Maybe it was one of those Spencer-centric dreams.
"Spence, I think you should take Y/N to the hospital. I'll cover for you with Hotch." JJ suggested.
Spencer nodded in agreement while Morgan looked worriedly at you. JJ got up from the desk to seek out Hotch in his office.
"Do you have your keys?" Spencer asked, still looking you over.
"Um-" you checked your pockets and sure enough found a ring of keys in your pants pocket. You dropped them into Spencer's outstretched hand.
"Can you walk?" Spencer's voice went softer.
You shivered as you did whenever you heard that tone on the show. He could make a living doing ASMR with that voice.
You stood with Spencer's unneeded, but much appreciated, help. He seemed to have no problem holding your hands to help you, something you considered to be out of character for the germaphobic Dr. Reid. Then again, the show did not go this long without it's occasional inconsistencies. Was your subconscious hallucination really thinking these things out?
You followed him to the elevator with ease, taking in your surroundings as you went. As the elevator doors closed, Spencer frowned at you once again.
"Your pupils have been dilated since you woke up." He spoke.
Yeah probably because the attractive genius I've been dreaming of for years is vividly realistic and talking to me.
"Is that a sign of head trauma?"
"Actually yes, you could be experiencing a sensitivity to light as a result of your head trauma. If that's the case, then you're in luck because it's been raining all day."
You followed Spencer out to your car, or at least you thought it was your car. You didn't exactly own one before dropping into this hallucination world. You were saving up for one, but didn't really need it as you lived close to your job and took public transit when you needed to go further distances. This car was nice, you supposed the dream BAU job payed well.
Spencer drove you to the hospital and waited in the waiting room as you received a full check up and MRI. You hoped he wasn't too bored waiting. As the doctor returned with your results you asked if Spencer could come in to hear the diagnosis. The doctor asked if he was family and you lied saying he was your fiancé. The doctor really didn't seem to care and Spencer was allowed in. He looked confident, prepared to discuss anything scientific that you may not understand yourself.
"Well Y/N, after reviewing your MRI scans and testing results, I can confidently assure you that you are perfectly healthy. We can order some blood tests for you if you wish, but from the concussion symptoms you thought you had, and from the results I have in front of me, I don't believe they are necessary." The doctor said with a smile, probably just happy to be delivering some good news.
"That can't be right." You shook your head and frowned.
"Y/N was clearly exhibiting fatigue, light sensitivity, memory loss, and confusion at work. If she's not concussed, what is wrong with her?" Spencer asked.
"I'd say your fiancé is simply experiencing the effects of exhaustion and a lack of sleep. My advice? Take her home and let her rest."
Spencer firmly shut his mouth as the doctor said "fiancé."
The doctor turned to you. "If you'd like, I can perscribe you a sleeping sedative."
You shook your head "no." You couldn't believe it; you'd slept at a reasonable hour, and you didn't feel fatigued.
Everything was starting to feel so real. The warmth of Spencer sitting so close to you felt real. The rain that fell on your skin felt real. The medicinal scent of the hospital made your feel sick. You could only think of one final way to try to wake up.
"Spencer can you stop somewhere for me?" You asked as he drove you home.
"Sure."
"Is there a lake near by?"
"Yeah...you don't remember? You've jogged on the trails near it with JJ and Morgan."
"Can you take me there? There's something I need to do."
You were beginning to grow used to the worried look on his face. The way his eyes softened reminded you of a puppy.
Suddenly, a thought occurred to you. If this was a dream concocted by your brain, wouldn't Spencer be a bit more romantic? In your dreams he could range from a hardcore, post-prison, genius, bad boy to a nerdy romantic, but he was always, obviously, interested in you right away. This Spencer seemed to be your friend, just your friend. By now he would've usually confessed his undying love and maybe taken you in the back seat of your car. Yeah, you weren't the most creative person. What kind of dream was this?
You felt a blush coming on as Spencer side-eyed you. Your brain would never torture you with a long-con, would it?
Spencer took you to the lake, walking beside you without a word, most likely thinking you were going crazy and in need of sleep. You walked to the edge of the trail and looked down at the lake. It was a ways down, the point you were standing was more like a cliff. You determined that the water must have been about a 6 second drop down for someone your size
"Y/N, why did you want me to take you out here?" Spencer asked as he eyed the waters below.
You stayed silent as you took a few steps back. You took a deep breath, and before you could second-guess yourself, you ran to the edge of the cliff and jumped.
"Y/N!" Was the last, panicked thing you heard before the body of water came rushing towards you.
Your body submerged in the icy cold water and sunk deep down from the speed at which you fell. All you could hear was the echoing pressure of the water against your eardrums. This was your last resort. You knew if anything could wake you up, it would be this, your biggest fear.
Your father had drowned, he worked on a fisherman's boat and a storm had overturned the ship far out in the ocean. All that had been recovered was assorted pieces of the ship's wreckage. You'd never even had the chance to learn how to swim as the fear had already settled in before your step-mother could arrange lessons.
If you could drown in this confusing dream-world, maybe you would wake up in time for your Criminal Minds audition.
Your lungs protested as you let yourself sink. You closed your eyes and let your muscles relax. Your head screamed at you, telling you that you absolutely should not be doing this. Fear prickled at your skin. Why did this feel like you were actually dying?
A heartbeat later, you heard the water's surface explode above you, but you didn't have the strength to look up. Your brain processed something wrapping around you and tugging you up, but you could not open your eyes to see what it was. You held on to your last bit of consciousness as you breeched the surface of the water and felt the chilly air assault your skin.
Arms pulled you somewhere. Your body was dragged up something solid, the backs of your legs scraped against rocks. It must have been land. Hands applied pressure, pushing like a heartbeat against your center, you could hardly feel it. A hand held your mouth open while another pinched your nose closed. Lips pushed, rushed, against your own as air was forced back into you. The hand left your mouth and returned to pumping.
"Come on. Come back to me Y/N. Please." Pleading followed by more air.
The strange entity repeated the process once more before you felt everything come up, forcing you back to reality.
You coughed and choked up water and bile; the rain washed it all away. Your lungs were aching and your skin was ice cold. The only warmth was what lingered from the person's lips. A hand pat and rubbed your back, helping you cough up everything. When it was all over your whole body was shivering. Your muscles gave out and a pair of arms wrapped around you, holding you up.
"Y/N."
You weakly turned your head.
Spencer. He's still here. He's really here.
He was soaked, hair ringlets stuck to his face, and his eyes were rimmed red. He looked like an angel, hand carved by Michelangelo himself.
Your brain was trying to catch up with his words.
"Y/N, I need to get you back to the car before we both go into hypothermia. Can you walk?" He asked through chattering teeth.
Your throat was killing you, so you opted for just shaking your head "no" in response.
"I'll have to carry you then, okay?"
You nodded, doubtful he could, especially in his weakened state.
He stood, grabbing his bearings before scooping you up. You weakly held his neck and lay your head on his shoulder. Your pain was numbed, you knew, from the biting cold.
Spencer managed to carry you all the way back to the car, placing you gently in the backseat and turning the heat all the way up. He climbed in the backseat with you and began to remove his jacket and tie.
"We have to remove our clothes, they're soaking wet and we have to warm up. Do you need me to help you undress?" There was no hint of teasing or slyness in Spencer's voice. He was completely serious and you knew he was right.
"I-I can't. Everything is numb." You managed to croak out, wincing at the pain it brought your throat.
"Alright, um- I'll only remove your shirt and pants."
You nodded, weakly.
Spencer removed his own shirt before carefully lifting yours over your head. He made sure to keep his eyes on your face as much as possible and not linger his gaze anywhere else. Next he removed your shoes, socks, and peeled your pants down your legs. You managed to arch your back slightly to help him. Lastly, he removed his own pants and threw all the clothes in a pile on the floor of you car.
"I'm going to hold you now, if that's alright. We need each other's body heat." Spencer looked less confident now. You managed to nod a "yes."
If you weren't so close to death, you knew your brain would be shorting out at the thought of being held by a half-naked, and very real, Spencer Reid.
He helped you lay down across the seats and settled in next to you. He wrapped his arms around you and rubbed his hands along your shoulders and back in an effort to warm you and massage your tensed muscles.
A few minutes of this went by before you could finally move. You wrapped your arms around Spencer, holding him close as his body warmed your own, and you cried against his chest.
One thought repeated over and over again in your head.
This is real.
You worked for the BAU and Spencer Reid had just saved your life.
